Pretty sure it was like this in 1.19.8 (although I did quickly move onto 1.20PR...I think most of my bad moose experience was in 1.19)

My experience has been the same as OPs. Unless I am hunting them, if I see a moose I go the other way.

So I start a new world with default settings, and immediately (Immediately, like before I can do anything) am killed by a wolf. I'm done. Go home 1.20, you're drunk. Call me back when you're serious.

I wish. Even better would be something like chunkbase.com has for Minecraft. I know some people love the discovery, but I don't have days to invest into a world, only to find out I hate it. It really makes me sour on the game.

Some server settings don't take effect on an already existing character. I believe this is one of them. You can run individual player commands on those characters, or nuke them out of existence and let them create a new one. The wiki is pretty helpful on this.

I hate them as well, and even worse, my wife hates them from halfway across the house but if I make the volume any lower, I can't hear the sounds that matter (like when a wolf is eating my face). I don't have as much experience as Thorfinn does, at least I have something to look forward to I guess.

You know I admit I can't recognize all the components, but I was mostly looking at the BP and it seems like a lot of metal to me. No gears, I tend to run out of room for after a while too. 8 plates, 8 nails, 3 bars? That is 21 ingots, regardless of what it is, it's quite a bit of metal. I imagine you're going to need another for a return trip, if not more for a portal network. As you yourself have noticed in another thread; it is already getting to be a drag how many hours it takes to get around, and we're only up to 2 out of what 8 planned major story sites?

Nah, it isn't like as a hunter you can 1-shot much with a bow either. I mean recurve and steel arrows, maybe a rabbit. I don't think you can 1 shot a surface drifter still. Like I said, I still melee a lot, the drifters just come too fast and too many, easier to just sit in a choke point with sword and shield (or even throwing spears with shield). Bow is awesome for hunting, especially things that run away from you. I think these bonuses make very little difference, which is fine by me, because truth be told, I hate class systems. Funny for a kid that grew up on DnD and the like, but once again, the older I get, the more shit I hate.

VERY nice! The obtained by breaking itself gives me hope that it is not single use, since it means we can move it around. It looks like an appropriately expensive recipe.

Oh, I didn't realize it was only RC1, although I don't know how feature locked that makes it. Another thing I forgot to gripe about, and I don't see notes of it being fixed (although I have also not played lately so I am not positive it wasn't addressed) that drives me insane. Either furl the damn sail or let us climb to the top of the mast. It is pretty stupid that we just climb up for a better view to only be able to look behind us because the sail is in our face.

That shouldn't be a worry, I carry a bucket of water around mostly for transportation. As soon as I get my first bucket, I don't even carry ladders and I flood every mine shaft I dig. I absolutely love mining under the ocean, because it pretty much guarantees I am not going to be disturbed. You can hold your breath pretty long on default settings, and then it's easy to make a quick air pocket when you need to by digging 2 blocks to the side. I worry more about having to dig through 100+ layers of useless rock to get to the surface, only to find it to be another uninteresting area. I haven't done a lot of caving or messing with translocaters because of bad experiences so far.

We found the Brit! Seriously though, I think it's a good idea too...more herbalism would be good, and teas with different effects fit well.

Why did you wait? This should have gone IN 1.20, not 1.21 I used the boat mod when I briefly played 1.98 and it had better mechanics (speed from wind, auto sailing, could walk around on it), even if the new vanilla boat is way cooler. I think it (the mod) was decently fast, not to mention as someone with a fair amount of sailing experience (it was my late father-in-laws passion) I would enjoy a tad bit more realism in the sailing mechanics. The mod proved it was possible.
