Ok, so this WAS counting as a greenhouse, I had the +5 C from it on the planted crops. NONE of the blocks are on top of the glass, they're only on the sides.

I put some decorative blocks on top (WAY less than 50% of the roof and also chiseled small) and it stopped counting as a greenhouse. I removed the blocks and it still won't count as a greenhouse anymore. I tore the glass out, tore the doors out, and re-placed them. No good. Slept, restarted game, still nothing.

I ran the debug rooms command and the whole inside shows green, but it also says I'm standing in 9 rooms? Standing on the ground, my hud shows a cellar. Pillaring up near the ceiling, the hud shows a house?

The inside dimensions are 10x10x6 tall. Is there any command to just make the game re-check the building? Or re-check the chunk? I honestly don't know what's wrong here and why it changed.

Chiseled blocks do not count as solid blocks. Occasionally, in some circumstances they do, but I've seen way too many instances where they do not. So, even though chiseled blocks are one of the major features of VS, I avoid them in any critical use.

None of the chiseled blocks are in any critical use. The whole structure except for the pine planks at the bottom are full glass blocks. None of the chiseled blocks are glass, they're all outside of it.

OK, so chiseled blocks are not the problem.

What is, then?

[EDIT]

I say this because in 1.19, I was able to make a greenhouse, and now, evidently, I cannot. So what's the deal?

Is the world updated to 1.20?  If so, that alone could be the problem.

If not, maybe the game considered the chiseled blocks part of the structure of the greenhouse (even though blocks were outside the growing area) and negated the greenhouse modifier and just isn't updating there after.  I don't have any experience with greenhouses and only speaking from what others have said on the topic. Someone with more expertise may provide better answers (and hopefully will).

My guess is your style of a curved roof made out of slabs is causing some kind of detection issue. Try to make it an ugly rectangular flat roof and see if it works.

There's no slabs or chiseling on the roof, It's all solid blocks.

Hmmm...have you tried deleting the HUD mod and reinstalling it? I'm not certain that's the cause at all, but it might be something to check out. The greenhouse might actually be working, but the mod may have glitched, which would explain why it's not showing the information on the HUD.

Do you have any shots of the ceiling area from the inside? Since you've indicated that the roof portion is registering as a house, and the rest as a cellar, there could be some sort of detailing that's throwing the game for a loop and causing it to register the wrong space type. Especially since it's somehow registering nine different rooms. Another thing you might try regarding this, is to create a different world and test similar designs to see if you can get the issue to repeat itself.

can't see clearly how the roof is built?  at the peak, is it 8 blocks high?  have you tried as a test, flatten the roof? hmm, seems you did rebuild it to try and reset back to when it once worked.  something changed with the bits from when first built though what i'm uncertain, much like yourself it seems

what bugs me a bit, is the command /debug rooms hi can show a valid room, does not take into account the 'skylight' factor that turns a valid room, into a greenhouse

(also, in the past, there was an issue with slabs, being inside vs outside, any slabs being used?)

(wiki: "Every block checks if it’s in a greenhouse after a maximum of 4 in-game hours"

so thats 8 minutes real life)

(wiki:Troubleshooting

By far, the most common reason for a room not behaving as expected is the choice of door: crude door and sleek door do not seal a room; solid door, trapdoor, and iron door do.

Blocks less than full height, such as path blocks, should be avoided.

Mods can sometimes interfere. TentBag-2.1.1 interfered with a room registering as sealed, even when the mod item was removed: "Picking up a structure and re-placing it in the same spot somehow destroys the ability to be a cellar in -that- spot. Move the structure to a new location? It's back to a perfect cellar.")

As long as any chiseled blocks that are facing inside are labeled as 'insulating blockface' and as long as your room doesn't exceed 7 blocks in width/depth/height it should work

I can't tell from the photo but if your roof is made out of glass slabs, I believe the sides of a slab do not count as insulating, only the one side counts. But I could be entirely wrong on that.

It's definitely more than 7 wide in the screenshots, but it should be within the dimensions for a greenhouse, according to the wiki. Unless, of course, the wiki is wrong, and it could be.

The wiki says 11 x 11 x 11 for a greenhouse, 7x7 is for cellars

There are no slabs and no chiseled blocks used in the actual greenhouse, nor are any of the ceiling blocks covered at all

I've built 4 others of this *exact* greenhouse and they all work. I've just turned this one into my bee enclosure since it refuses to be a greenhouse for no reason I can detect.
