  1. There is one ruin in vanilla that has TP and it is sort of like that. There is a ruined stone building on a raised bit of land with gardens around it with cobble around beds of it.
  2. Only suggestion I have is write down the coordinates you want to keep and delete the map file. I think the markers are a separate file but I can't remember.
  3. One of my favorite topics!!! Seriously though, the storms are just a time out to most players or as someone else stated, they go make snacks or just turn them off. I've only done a couple light storms in 1.21 and so far they seem more reasonable on bowtorns, which is a step in the right direction. Or maybe I just got lucky on those storms.
  4. I know you already know this, but turnips are ready so fast that I plant them anytime because getting three 50% harvests over the spring and summer is still plenty of food.
  5. I've never heard that in vanilla either.
  6. You are looking at both pumps right? You add the temporal gear to one pump and the pump head to the other pump. If both have a pump head then /gm 2 , open the door in God mode, /gm 1 and go inside.
  7. I didn't check that. I don't think the actual ore nodes are set by the seed, but I guess it could be as well. I might try and check that tonight.
  8. I feel confident you are in a very small minority. I could possibly find the RA if I was desperate looking for limestone or bauxite, but only because I know how to spot it. I have no reason at all to travel far enough even in 1.21 to find the village. You just love exploring?
  9. I got the same message but it explained what to do in the message. Also this was just a fixed location treasure hunter trader so its not critical if you already found one.
  10. 1.21 Pre 3 1.21 Pre 3 I do not understand what evidence that is, because that looks very seed dependent. I created the same seed and got the same results with some small deviation. If you keep taking samples in the same spot all the way to bedrock there is deviation in the readings on the same world. I could collect hundreds of sample points and do some statistical analysis of it and calculate the mean and standard deviation, but well that seem unnecessary. The formula in the program has some variance I guess that creates these types of readings instead of it just giving the exact same number every time you take a sample. If it wasn't seed dependent, it would be just some other random ore reading on every world creation and not the same ores with a small variation.
  11. Create the seed i posted and check it out. I don't think thats the case anymore. Unless it is somehow tied to my computer.
  12. Making steel is a waste of time in my opinion. Its not that much of an upgrade for the time it takes. Not sure how that makes me feel about distances to the story locations. I think the RA is about right on distance. It's a good trip, without being a burden. The 2nd story location is a bit much to me as well, but didnt they change that in 1.21? I haven't checked yet. I guess I'll do that later tonight.
  13. Well I had to try the RA boss since we were talking about it. I was able to beat it first try with my typical set up (blackguard chest and legs with a scale helm), although I did rely more on melee. I tried to do it with as little strategy as possible with just hacking/spearing and healing, but I had to back off and figure out healing and that required some strategy. Healing was annoying but I was able to find a rhythm with his damage and found ways to heal myself as long as it could "hit" me. If it was my first playthrough I would have died. Maybe I should have done it with iron chainmail to be the minimum I would do. I don't know that the boss really needs to be any harder though. This is meant to be chapter 1 out of 8. I really hope they don't make VS a game about boss battles, although it seems to be headed that way.
  14. 1. I agree to an extent, but then I've just gotten used to it over time. It doesn't bother me anymore and is just part of the game. Like you said, it can be changed with little effort. 2. I starved my first trip to the RA and then the 2nd story location I brought extra food and somehow still ran low on food. 3. The RA wasn't that bad to me pre 1.21. The 2nd boss fight was beyond frustrating for me. I died over and over in 1.20 and then it's not even an gratifying fight. The way it ends just .. .sucks. I also haven't check if the fight is any different in 1.21 pre 3. 4. This may be worse now with the new delayed healing where you can't move during the application of the healing item. TBD. This sort of explains why the first boss fight was so hard. Steel plate is trash at least until 1.21. I haven't tested it with the new healing mechanic, but not being able to heal and a boss with AOE damage was rough. I agree with your sentiment though. Offering steel plate armor and then making it a death trap is sort of annoying. It lead many players down a frustrating path where they thought they had made the best preparation possible for the RA and then they got owned by the boss because it does AOE damage and you can't heal yourself. Yes, you can beat the boss in plate armor, but it is a lot harder than just using chain or any other armor that gives decent protection and you can still heal yourself.
  15. @Thorfinn I started somewhere at the end of 1.18 and the release of 1.19 so somewhere in there I think you are right. I thought I found the same prospecting readings and surface deposits in the seed I use to check out the new RCs. It was bugging me so I checked and it was the same, but when I go back to my 1.18 world it does not have the same readings as a 1.21.0 pre 3. It changed somewhere between 1.18 and 1.21 pre 3. I'm almost motivated enough to load several old releases to see exactly when it changed. Not that it is important, but I want to know!
  16. Here this seed gives you obsidian and cassiterite at the 0,0 point. This is one of my favorite seeds because I like the basalt. Looks like Sulfur and copper are nearby as well and if I remember right bears and wolves aren't right on top of the spawn point. -852854117
  17. I just checked and the seed does dictate the reading of the prospecting pick. I created the exact same seed and went to (0,whatever, 0) and prospected and it gives the same reading.
  18. Depends on the seed. You might start in chalk or limestone or you may have to search for it. Unless you luck into borax then you dont need limestone to make leather. Chromite and borax are generally late game resources since they are needed for advanced backpacks and steel. Neither of which you need to do any of the story content.
  19. If its terrain is already generated in your world then you are pretty much stuck with it. The smoothing would only happen when new terrain is generated in your world after 1.21 is released. You can try to refresh those areas afterwards with wgen commands but it will nuke everything in the chunks.
  20. You typically don't need to travel more than 1000 blocks to find copper and tin. There is some luck involved but most of it is just knowing how to find it. My first world I traveled far and wide to find ores, but nowadays I usually find everything i need close to my base. Exceptions are things like limestone, chromite and borax.
  21. It's the better ruins mod, which add more story locations.
  22. Looks like a Mod issue. I'd suggest posting this on the mod page and ask for help.
  23. I still stumble on this one all the time. You think there is enough durability left... but nope.
  24. That's annoying. Now I want to install it on this old laptop I have to see what it would do.
  25. Maybe start turning down your graphics settings as a starting point.
