  1. I agree the player is insignificant, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't react to us. Similar to how the white blood cells react to threats. We don't consciously decide to deploy white blood cells, it just happens. From the lore and chapter 2 story, people can cause a direct reaction from the rust realm so it doesn't seem out of place for the rust to respond to us.
  2. I finally just started to mod the terrain generation. I got lucky my first couple worlds but after that it's been all mountains and jagged terrain on my seeds.
  3. This game doesn't try to fool the player that way at least. It's never given me the happy vibe. I get the, we are all going to die a horrible death vibe.
  4. It's happened to me before. Pretty rare though.
  5. I am not a mega builder but giving a benefit for a real roof vs a flat roof would make sense to me.
  6. I host my server in my house on a old used server. Works great for me, but you always have to deal with the pain of your router pass through.
  7. Also /wc lightningfires off That turns off lightning causing fires. It is a newer setting so not in the wiki yet. If it's not off then try False. I just did it but already forgot which command.
  8. Oh, if that isn't near your home and you just want to quickly fix the problem. You can just regenerate the terrain and it will go back to a forest. /wgen regen 1 1= the chunk radius around you to regenerate. I start with a small number because it can get out of hand and slow down your computer if you try to do a large radius. Be careful with this command because it NUKES everything and resets it back to default world generation. It will nuke anything you have built and any animals.
  9. Something... just give us something to make it feel worth wild. I still think you should get loot from the story locations that with a few jonas parts makes something interesting. It doesn't have to be game breaking. I wish the storms were somehow tied to your progress in the game or story. As you become more of a "threat" the rust dimension reacts to you. I know.. I know, but I'm annoying that way. I don't know if it needs to be the same, but the tier 4 bowtorns and shivers just make it too much IMO. I think the game should make sense in it's vanilla format. I've been tilting that windmill for far to long in my life, so I should know better. As stated before, I don't feel it hurts anything to give the feedback. The game is still in development, so maybe someone considers the feedback or maybe I'm just the anomaly.
  10. Sorry but I think you have to do it manually. Reminds me why I keep that setting turned off. I burn down a lot of forests and that is the worst looking one I've seen.
  11. Lol, that's how I feel every playthrough as well when I pan bony soil.
  12. Look for the artisan trader, they are more likely IMO to buy the low quality gems. The luxury trader can buy low potential gems, but in my experience they normally want the higher potential gems as Ifoz mentioned.
  13. If you don't like the conversation feel free to leave it.<insert lame emoji here> I don't see how that is a edge case. Tier 4 bowtorns spawn the same as tier 4 drifters in storms. Been killed by them along with tier 4 shivers. The temporal storm as it is to me and many others doesn't mask sense. What is the reward for the risk? Worthless temporal gears and jonas junk parts? Are they just suppose to kill you for fun to prove the game is scary? I tire of the arguments that it can't be as easy as running around spearing them like it used to be in 1.19 and the game is not a combat game. IT'S A GAME - there has to be something fun about it's mechanics and the combat has to make sense when every major update doubles down on combat. Temporal storms in 1.19 were fun to me. Yes, they were to easy when you learned how to run around and spear them, but I had fun running around trying to kill as many of the idiots as I could. The reward was just fun because you don't need that many Temporal gears anyway and jonas parts aren't worth the effort. Now in 1.20, I deal with the storms but they are -0- fun. I get a couple temporal gears and the rest is just misery or boredom waiting out the storm.
  14. Yeah I was interested to hear you farm there. I got in and got out.
  15. The wolf spawn mechanics are a little much. It's been awhile but I've had to kill 40 wolves in one location before. That was just crazy. I thought @Thorfinn posted the code once and it had different ratios and the storm you get isn't always the same. Some storms are 90% drifters but some are 50% bowtorns. So it's just luck on which one you get. If you get hit by a nightmare or other tier 4 bowtorn it nearly one shots you. If you are running constantly so you are never surprised by a bowtorn then that's nice but you aren't doing anything else if 10 of them are surrounding you firing at you. Although my last couple storms I haven't seen 10 bowtorns anymore so I'm not sure if they adjusted the ratios or if I just got lucky on my storms. I guess for me when it comes to the bowtorn I wish they were a little less accurate at maximum range or they did arrow damage instead of spear damage. I know they aren't spear vs arrow in actual damage but you get my point. It's just stupid that you have to do it. Not that you have to do anything. I personally don't put anything in a pit except storms, but I understand why people do. I've just gotten really good at my aim with a spear, but not everybody is going to have that same aim.
  16. I agree, it's stupid. I vomit a little in my mouth every time I work on my temporal storm cheesing base.
  17. These type of threads remind me why I never run a sever. I had enough of that nonsense when I was a sever "helper" way way way back in the day.
  18. Start with Snowball earth. It will challenge you on food your first time. I personally use the "hot start" but that isn't a great start as it is still butt cold and if you really want to challenge yourself do regular "temperate" start. Bears and wolves will start to look very tasty.
  19. You can regenerate any area of the map you want by using the command " /wgen regen 1 ". The 1 is a radius around you of chunks you want reset to the current world generation settings. You can increase the number to reset a larger area. WARNING ACHTUNG! it nukes everything in the affected chunks. Do not do this near your base or anything you want to keep. This includes animals.
  20. Forget what everyone says in the guides. Just use the descriptor very high, high, poor, etc... Decent is good enough of a reading to find almost any ore. Just dig straight down using ladders so you don't fall if you hit a cave. At .7 and below of sea level is where most ores start to spawn. So at default settings sea level is 110 height which equates to about 77. If you doubled world height for example it would be 154.
  21. First question then is what mods are you running? At ultra high readings you should be hitting it with no problem. Are you digging straight down and using ladders? It should spawn around 72 world height if you didn't change world height.
  22. I get duplicate books all the time as a single player. You can get books from panning bony soil, loot chests, and maybe merchants.
  23. Awesome glad that worked.
  24. If you do have a mod changing the terrain, disable it and then use the wgen regen command and will restore it to the default terrain generation. It will make the terrain wonky but it will be accessible.
  25. That is annoying. You can also try " /wgen regen 1 " when you are at the edge if the village. That probably won't work but until Brady replies that may be worth trying. That just regens the chunks around you, and maybe the game will autofix it.
