We much appreciate if players can improve the translations!

can I use other .NET languages like F# for modding?
Tyron replied to Voxelman's topic in [Legacy] Mods & Mod Development
From what I read in the first few google results it should work fine, as long as you can reference the VintageStoryAPI.dll in your F# project -

From today on we are offering home-brewn game server hosting. It's ideal for small groups of friends and family! Right now we only have 100 servers available, but we will buy more hardware should the demand arise. I believe we've created a really useful service and we're excited to see where it will take us! => Buy Server hosting on our Store <= Here's a screenshot of the server dashboard Game Version 1.14.9 We needed to update the game to improve support for Vintagehosting. Moved topic to the right location, also renamed the board to "Mods&Mod development" for clarity.

Dear Spring-y Community v1.14.9-rc.1, an unstable release, can now be downloaded through the account manager. Soon we'll be releasing our first batch of officially hosted servers through our service that we call "Vintagehosting". It'll encompass about 500 player slots or 100 servers for 5 players each. The core goal of this service is to offer dead simple server hosting for friends and family. We'd like players to have a good experience with our game, and that should include setting up game servers. If there is enough demand for it then we can think of hiring extra help to expand this service to support additional features such as world uploads, variable player slot ordering and mod support. I've decided to make another minor release to add some finishing touches to our in-game server dashboard for this purpose. But! I also added a few valuable game tweaks and fixes Also, you can now buy the game on itch.io again! \o/ Screenshot by Wayward on Discord Game updates Vintagehosting Feature: Can now download own worlds. Cleaned up server dashboard UI Tweak: Fixed player animation jankiness on block placement/interacting, bow aiming/shooting and spear aiming cancel Tweak: Updated language files, added esperanto Tweak: Minor modification to /stat command output. Now shows max clients and amount of seconds a player was last online Fixed: Removed 1-deep-waterhole-of-doom. You can now swim out of those again Fixed: Right clicking with an empty crock on an empty bowl made the bowl invisible Fixed: Rounding issue on the health point tool tip of the hp stat bar Fixed: Wrong worldconfig tool tips on the single player world selection screen and every 2nd one missing Fixed: Other players not seeing items in chests being added or removed Fixed: /land claim revoke not revoking access View full record

Yes indeed, I am currently working on that.

Hey, sorry for the troubles. HumbleBundle only informed me a day before they were about to run out of keys and they seemed to have changed something with their key upload system, as they are unable to use our keys containing special characters. The first 5000 keys I uploaded in 2016 worked fine I've been in contact with their support but that also doesn't seem to make much as of yet progress. I think the quickest course of action you can do is to request a refund and buy it on our site. Btw. to above poster - I took the freedom to rename your display name - we'd like NSFW friendly names on the forums and discord.

my bad, this is now fixed

Dear Wintery Community v1.14.8, a stable release, can now be downloaded through the account manager. Whats new in v1.14.8 This update should again fix a lot of easy to fix or major bugs. As always, we hope this is the last stability update for v1.14 This update also has the chance of improving compatibility with MacOS and Linux/Wayland! Please do let us know if it did help for you in #gamedev on discord. The Vintage Story Mod Database! We have now launched an official modding database where every player can upload and download mods. We call it the VS Mod DB, go check it out! It connects to your game account, so no separate sign up required. We plan to tightly integrate it into the game client, to eventually blur the line on what is vanilla content and what is modded content. Whats new in the upcoming v1.15 Radfast did some excellent work on improving performance in several key areas of the game. Redram and Balduranne did some really neat stuff, see images below. Hayden will bestow us with some great new music tracks, Luke is adding new assets and animations, and Tyron was slacking and busy with VS Mod DB I'll give you a sneak peek look at some of the new stuff - replacing the tree saplings with seeds, a distiller concept and giving the trader caravans some actual (but static) wheels. Game updates for v1.14.8 New in v1.14.8 Tweak: Improve /genbackup performance (technical info: don't run VACUUM on the db) Tweak/Fixed: Might improve mouse support for MacOS and Linux/Wayland. (Technical info: Update to OpenTK 3.3.1 as suggested by ZigTheHedge, Added Wayland fixes by jascrain) Tweak: Graphics Settings updates: Updated hover text on Max FPS and VSync settings and some others Fix incorrect hover text for Purple Grass fix Micro tweaks to GUI layout Tweak: Refractory Grating now has hitbox similar to a half-slab Tweak: Updated all language files Fixed: Z-fighting on Glacier Ice Fixed: "killed by another player" death message Fixed: Cementation Furnace stone coffin can now accept same ingots at any temperature Fixed: Tooltip positioning for Itemstacks in Handbook Fixed: Ewes forgetting when they were last milked upon world reload Fixed: Dupe bug with crafting inventory on death Fixed: Various Mechanical Power fixes Single unconnected up/down Angled Gears rendered turning in the wrong sense Newly placed Large Gear wrong output sense on one side Angled gear issues in v1.14.8-rc.1 Windmill rotor directly connected to Angled Gears without an axle sometimes rotated wrong if there were other power sources (more windmills) already on the network Large Gear with a horizontal small gear not always connecting to a network at load time if the Large Gear spanned a chunk boundary Fixed: Schematic rotation of Leaded Glass Pane Fixed: if world disallows coordinate display, dont show it in Ctrl+F3 screen for block selection Fixed: Several issues when rotating imported schematics (e.g. chiseled blocks and signs) Fixed: chiseled blocks ground snow layer correctly rotates when rotated using chisel tool (or schematic) Fixed: Crash reporter not showing event viewer error log entries when the client-crash.txt is empty, improved report finding Fixed: Reload Textures crash All the changes in v1.14.8-rc.1 Feature: Hosted server services: Can now configure world configuration Tweak: Firepit warming rework reduced default warming range, but increased indoor warming range Tweak: "Low" graphics preset now more suitable for modern Intel integrated GPU Tweak: Restored firepit flames rendering starting on player joining game Tweak: Singleplayer screen tweaks moved seed and worldheight fields into the customize screen Tweak: English language strings for world customisation: corrections, clarification, formatting and additional help Tweak: Updated community translation files Tweak: Grass-covered blocks and other seasonal tinted blocks can no longer be chiseled (currently not supported) Tweak: Closing the create or edit waypoint dialog now focuses the worldmap again Tweak: Create character screen eye/skin/hair colors now have tooltips to show the color name Tweak: Changed default music frequency from 'sometimes' to 'often' Tweak: Block Info text for Tool Rack and Shelf now consistent with placement of items (left to right) Tweak: Added item collection sound when an anvil completes smithing an item, if the item is auto-collected by player inventory Tweak: Several handbook text updates Various typos fixed Added meteoric iron and steel to the progression guide Mentioned bloomery for smelting quartz and iron in the smelting guide Mentioned node search mode in the propick guide Fixed raw and ripe cheese missing from the handbook Fixed teleporter and mentioned being listed although they are creative only blocks Fixed: Literally being on fire still left you freezing cold. Hi jason, yes you can do so, but please do use the latter option - download the files on install time. The download url format is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future.

Hey modders, In order to further support your modding efforts I've begun work on an official mod database that is tailor-made for uploading and downloading mods. A rudimentary version of it is now online at https://mods.vintagestory.at In the very near future I will develop an API for this site that directly integrates your mods into the client. Ideally we'd want players to connect to modded servers and auto-install all required mods with the press of a button. Happy modding!

Oh, seems like you can. The syntax for placeholders is {param1}, {param2}, {param3}...

This question is also answered in the FAQ, by the way

Can there be a total number of accounts sold on the Account Statistics?
Tyron replied to Tails's topic in Discussion
Ok, let's try. I ditched the 7-day sum therefore, that one felt kinda useless. -
I have started work on an official web-based modhub, took the freedom to design similar mod-cards as your web based version, because they look nice! I'd like the in-game mod manager to interface with that official modhub as the next step, but I can make the "modserver" url configurable in case users want to use your hub.

Dear Wintery Community v1.14.8-rc.1, an unstable release, can now be downloaded through the account manager. Quite overdue, but finally here, at least in unstable form. Due to a rather annoying bug with cellars at chunk edges not being correctly detected as cellars, we've decided to push yet another (mostly) bugfix update. In the process we also made staying warm inside a room with a lit firepit a bit easier - the range is now increased. This update also completes one more major milestone for our server hosting services - which is the ability to configure worlds easily. That also required me to rework of the single player world configuration a bit - so the seed and world height settings are now on the customize screen as well. This server hosting service is is currently in closed beta. Once we are able to make a public beta, we'll likely call the service "Vintage Servers". As for the next major update - we got some really neat stuff done and more is in the works, but the bulk of the update yet needs to be completed. Yet again, I personally am not as productive as I would have liked to be, but that is also rather challenging with the current ongoing world wide situation. I'm happy to see the rest of the team churning out assets and code at a very healthy rate though. Here's one v1.15 sneak preview on something I was working on and that I've already shown on discord - rope physics! It's possible that v1.15 might take a while due to us taking one or the other detour along the way. We might also cut back on the planned features and release earlier. Let's see. Anyhow, thanks everyone for playing and contributing with mods, translations and all the other stuff! Keep calm and carry on chiseling! I love the fact that this is a single, 643 byte large file and still does something useful

Dear Wintery Community v1.14.6-rc.1, an unstable release, can now be downloaded through the account manager. We decided to put some more love into v1.14 before we fully commit to v1.15. Due to the amount of changes we did, we'll release this as 'unstable' first until we got the bugfix bugs worked out again There is also more progress on other fronts The VS Model Creator received a few new additions. Working on high detail models should be somewhat less painful now We've migrated the Vintage Story wiki to a dedicated host and installed some more advanced extensions for our wiki editors We've launched a closed beta-test of our hosted server services which is going well so far but some important features are still missing I finally migrated to decent pc hardware, which is wonderful to work on but also took quite some time to set up. I used to work on a mid-range 2016 gaming laptop - turns out these aren't exactly optimized for working on massive game development projects Screenshot/Build by LauriU#8527 Game updates Tweak: Can now drink raw milk with a bowl Tweak: Raised steel tool durability one more time (from 2x iron to 2.5x iron). Slightly higher mining speed for the steel pickaxe as well Tweak: Added "tempstormDurationMul" worldconfig so players can tweak temporal storm durations through commands Tweak: /whenwillitstopraining now tells the players if override precipitation is active Tweak: Adding ingots to existing piles of ingots now averages and spreads the temperature Tweak: Show part info in tapestry itemstack tooltip so you can figure out which part it is Tweak: Ladders now allow rain through and snow to accumulate beneath them Tweak: Boulders now have a collision box (the player can stand on top of them) Tweak: snow-covered grass now has the same collision box as plain snow, should lead to smoother walking across snowy terrain Tweak: Coopers Reeds in water can now freeze and become embedded in ice Tweak: Lake Ice thaws a bit faster in spring and thawing is sped up by rain Tweak: Helve Hammers built incorrectly (wrong toggle orientation) now won't move Tweak: Usability Tweak. Prevent burning firepits to be ignitable again by a firestarter or torch. Tweak: Plaster is now chiselable Tweak: Grass (tallgrass) blocks not displaced so much when randomly positioned Tweak: Coopers Reed and Papyrus, in water, after it is cut, has less wind/water motion Tweak: Low stability glitch effect now no longer in sync across all creatures to make it look more intentional Tweak: Server no longer crashes on invalid spawn point coordinates while in repair mode Tweak: Open doors no longer count as exits (breaking rooms!) but do retain less heat Tweak: Butterfly tweaks Now fly a bit faster Exhibit gliding behavior again Less likely to be hugging water surfaces Tweak: Snow can be cleared from stone paths; thicker snow must be cleared from grass, before the grass can be cut or scythed. Tweak: Stars now rotate East to West, not South to North Tweak: Small performance tweaks (technical detail: rotating and scaling meshes creates fewer new objects on heap, optimisation when re-drawing tall grass and plants, freeze checks for water blocks below the surface which cannot freeze are faster) Fixed: Trap and log crash issue in BehaviorExtraSkinnable Fixed: Miiight fix chunks sometimes completely dark, especially when the game server ungracefully stopped Fixed: Very long server freeze when /genbackup is slow and an autosave happens (Technical info: /genbackup runs in a completely seperate thread now) Fixed: Rare ladder and door lighting issue if solid neighbouring block lit from another side Fixed: Cut off itemstack rendering in the handbook when guiscales below 8 Fixed: Should fix a rare server side exception thrown by the scythe and causing players to disconnect as a result Fixed: Players on ladders sometimes clipping through a solid block above Fixed: Right-clicking barrels with full crocks now only transfers pickled vegetables Fixed: Vintage beef way too large in tp mode Fixed: Cheese turning to blue cheese or other foods in containers spoiling when it shouldn't (technical info: don't process freshness values when near a loaded chunk edge) Fixed: Should fix the shift crafting bug, also chance of fixing the rare case of items disappearing on shift-transfer Fixed: Occasional lighting flicker when placing or changing blocks Fixed: No more jarring step-changes in daylight brightness Fixed: Crash when player rage quits, rejoins, spawns, immediately switches to creative, and picks up dropped backpack items, without first opening creative inventory at all Fixed: Snow covered Stone Path now drops correct Stone Path block Fixed: Helve Hammers built incorrectly (wrong toggle orientation) now wont move Fixed: Rotating a chiseled block did not update the snow layer Fixed: /serverconfig passtimewhenemtpy did not save the setting Fixed: Reduce creature "wall hugging" a bit when wandering Fixed: Snow layer side culled when adjacent to snow covered chiseled blocks Fixed: Ground snow cover inside a chiseled block gone after world reload Fixed: Game crashing on invalid cave music track json config Fixed: With Traders, shift-clicking rusty gears in player inventory no longer transfers them to the Trader for free! Fixed: Snow covered chiseled blocks not exposed to the sky got deleted when the snow melted Fixed: Placed pan killing grass coverage when placed on a grass block Fixed: Prevent a rare crash with the handbook Api Tweak: Behavior change in InventoryBase.ActivateSlot()! The method now also needs to handle shift-click transfer of stacks. It was previously handled by the inventory manager. The base method is already updated for that. View full record
