Or a cementation furnace mechanic where a permanent building is heated to fire the clay items. Maybe make the internal space no more than a 3x3x3 interior space and built from refractory bricks.

modded options to pit kilns - pottery oven in the Useful Stuff mod. Pit kilns were added in 1.15 as an upgrade from just throwing things in the firepit. I hope Tyron has plans to add a more advanced kiln option as wildlife has had steady upgrades, but as mentioned, nothing in the roadmap indicates such.

I would like to know why they eliminated the ropes to carry the animals
Maelstrom replied to Jefferzoonn's topic in Questions
I recall about 12-18 months ago Tyron was working on ropes that would connect between fences; but that was experimental and, to my knowledge, never a game feature. -
Animals sometimes "killed by another creature"?
Maelstrom replied to the_gamer_guy's topic in Questions
In two separate events I had my pregnant sows killed by another creature and not long thereafter my pregnant (gen 2) ewes (all SIX) killed by another creature. All were safely housed behind double high fences. Both events were preceded by the death of a bear by my hands. Kinda hard to think it was something other than bears that played patty-cake with my animals THROUGH the fence. -
Either weather isn't permitting or you really pissed off the berry bushes. I'm leaning toward the angered bushes though.

Multiplayer for someone with not a lot of time on their hands...

And cellar ice sounds like a mod. -
But they can go "through" fences. They can attack through a fence up to 3 blocks deep. Either protect your livestock behind blocks or double up the depth (not height) of your fences.

I would agree if ALL the mushrooms did similar damage. Considering that some mushrooms are an instant kill, regardless of how full AND maxed your health bar is; this is... an idea.

Better yet - place those stones from mining on the ground to eliminate monster spawnage for greater safety.

Not true. ANY helve hammer head will work on anything up to, and including, pounding blister steel into steel ingots. Yes, that means you can use a copper helve hammer to work steel. The anvil is the gateway to forging the next tier of metal. An axe is even better as it provides the highest DPS (damage per second) of all items. I strike first with a falx and switch to axe for successive blows.

There's quite a range of musical choices (instruments and pitches) to select from which also include options that are similar to the ones used for the traders. The problem is for characters converted from 1.16 the voices were selected for you. You might be able to reset that with a command that allows you to reselect the character's class, similar to the initial world configuration process. I believe the command line is available on the wiki.

Great idea, but out of place in a Lovecraftian world. Anything like that would need a scientific reason to appear on the world (kinda like drifters spawning from rifts).

I've got 200+ hours and have yet to find limestone OR chalk! Thank Tyron for borax or I would be hard pressed to even have the leather backpacks I have. Also thankful for that trader near my house that will sell some lime to me from time to time. would still prefer to have a source of limestone or chalk anywhere within saaaayyyy... 5,000 blocks, INCLUDING 5,000 blocks of any of the three translocators I've activated.

I believe the aged wooden planks can be broken down with a saw back into boards. Haven't played with them much so not sure if they are only used for path blocks or if there's other options.

I usually cook an even number of pots of food and have sufficient crocks on hand to immediately preserve. Not only do the ingredients have to be the same, but they have to be in the same slot in the cook pot.

Thread for posting your screenshot during a temporal storm. To start here's a light temporal storm during a snow storm at night. Weeee... And one of a heavy storm also during winter. Ordinarily that's a perfectly flat area.

2 pots makes 3 crocks of food. Just make sure to make the meals in both pots exactly the same. problem solved.

Much appreciated!

Especially when dropping a huge number of clay bricks into pit kilns.

Depends on how quickly you can find bees. My current world I didn't find bees within 2,000 block radius of my home. When I finally did find bees, I got a populated skep home just in time for it to go dormant for the winter.

I've had them assault me in my settlement that is near (but not in) a forested area. I've heard wolves prior to upgrading to 1.17 but have not had wolf attacks within the same area as I've had 3 bear attacks. I'm not sure if the bears spawned in the forest and wandered into my settlement or if the spawned in the plains and found their way to my home. Additionally, in running through a heavily brush filled area (sans trees) I came across a bear, but I've also had wolves in that same area as well. Based on my experience it seems that bears spawn where wolves do and have other places they can spawn as well. Seems like desert may be the only place safe from spawning bears.

Has there been any research in what conditions are required for a bear to spawn? In my limited experience it seems like it's similar to wolves, but I'm getting bears where I don't get wolves. Seems like bears may have more lenient spawning conditions than wolves.
