  1. @Streetwind Every branch I've cut from my trees don't grow back, regardless of the size. I'm no expert in things botanical as my efforts to maintain plant life usually ends up in the opposite result.
  2. Tree branches that are cut do not regrow in nature, nor should they in VS.
  3. This is one thing in VS that does NOT reflect reality when it should. I live in an area that would be considered cold starting climate and there's cattails ALL OVER but vines are pretty much non-existent.
  4. porridge can be made with grain in the first two slots of a cooking pot, no water needed. Any kind of art is possible with chiseling. Knitting is going to be limited to recipes. Check the handbook for info on those and much, much more!
  5. Four windmills connected to a single large gear are definitely enough to power three helve hammers (provided wind his high enough). I've got such a setup and when wind was high I had trouble keeping iron blooms on the helve hammers.
  6. I believe that tilling wild crops is OP if one takes the settle early path, especially if one protects the newly tilled crop. Given the speed with which the wild crop matures, I would expect this is unintentional game behavior and a bug. I would expect that tilling wild crops should either harvest/destroy the crop or cause it to continue maturing at a rate similar to if it had been planted on tilled soil.
  7. Not so noob questions. I suspect it has to do with a command to turn on visual chunk borders.
  8. patchy climate setting maybe?

Good question. Try it out and tell the rest of us? =D
  10. Works for all crops on tillable soil. Cops on sand, gravel or clay - just harvest.
  11. Run around gathering all the wild flax crops. I haven't upgraded to 1.16 but I carry a hoe with me and till the soil under immature wild crops. Next day, PRESTO! they're mature. All I need do is beat the wild bunnies to the harvest. It's May 7 and I've got my linen sacks.
  12. I believe I read that guide when I purchased this game and greatly appreciate it! Helped me find three deposits of iron in my first world and look forward to finding many more in the world I just started.
  13. I watched a streamer travel to world border using standard, default game distances. He encountered 2 polar regions and the journey took something like 50 to 55 hours real time. It would have taken longer without the raft from primitive survival.
  14. You might be able to throw the crock in water and have the contents float out. Not sure if that will work for anything other than rot, though.
  15. Works in non-immersive mouse mode which many people play in (and seems to be default playstyle).
  16. When you are knapping a stone tool, forming a clay item or working an ingot on an anvil, press c (the character stats screen) and it will lock the screen the same as holding down the alt key.
  17. Looking at an item and pressing 'H' will bring up the handbook entry for that time. Looking at a block and pressing Shift+'H' will bring up the handbook entry for that particular block.
  18. Open the inventory or character sub-screen when knapping, clay forming or forging as an alternative to mashing the alt key.
  19. On a snarky note - the world is shattered by some event. Seems that snow has been affected somehow.
  20. Break them, pitch them in a hole and let them despawn?
  21. Wish I had a parachute last night. Jumped into a hole I didn't see, which happened to be the deepest one in this world yet! Fell for 2 or 3 seconds (felt like 20), must have been a good 40 blocks.
  22. Watched a streamer journey to world border, took him something like 50 IRL hours to make the journey. The polar regions are.... interesting.
  23. Ugh. Laying down a few hundred (or couple thousand) block distance is laborious enough as it is. I can't imagine taking time to make a pit kiln equivalent every block of the way! There are points of realism that MUST be discarded to make the game FUN! I think VS is doing a fantastic job of balancing realistic requirements with avoiding others. Your idea is great, but should best be handled by a mod for those that would enjoy such labors of love.
  24. We need a VS version of Herobrine.
  25. I believe greenhouses need to enclose a 7x7 field (9x9 if walls are included in dimensions). Looks like you have a 9x9 field and 11x11 after walls are included in the dimensions.
