  1. Well you know how to set world config options when creating a new world, yes?
  2. Well, I know the landcover scale world option basically just raises the sea level, so that only the highest elevation areas are above water. Don't know how modded genegation might coplicate that though. Try setting the scale to low, generating a world, and post a screenshot.
  3. Thinking I'm going to start ignoring patch notes so that I can be suprised by stuff like that.
  4. Does this imply the addition of "uncommon" racoons?
  5. Maybe they should make the wiki browser read-only, and allow users to push changes via a public repo so that changes could be reviewed in merge requests before getting added.
  6. That depends largely, I believe, on if dotnet can compile natively on that architecture, and if so, the supported version is up to date. Apple is notorious for stubbornly refusing to play ball with anything not made or funded by themselves, up until they are all but forced to embrace it. It wouldn't suprise me if they don't support the runtime enviroment necessary for VS.
  7. I think we should talk about implementing herbalism\status effect system first before we talk about specific tinctures. but if/when those get added, I quite like the idea of there being some risk of poisoning as you suggest. In true VS fashion, I imagine the devs aren't going to let you turn your brain off when brewing tinctures, so many of the recipes risk being deadly if the formula isn't balanced correctly. Players would need to periodically test the brew to make sure it stays balanced.
  8. Are you asking how to domesticate specifically the goats you captured? I don't think you can claim ownership over wild animals. Neither is there a way of domesticating a specific animal; they're born that way. This means you must continue to breed them and gradually, generation by generation, they become friendlier to you. Note that domestication level is always inherited from the dam, not the sire.
  9. Fire tends to do that. My pit kiln area was perpetually illuminated for a while there. I often find light patches in the wild where, I assume, lightning struck at some point. You can fix them by placing a light source on them and removing it.
  10. So I've seen people call temporal stability a "sanity meter" all the time. Why? Did it used to be called sanity at some point in development?
  11. I personally hav the least geming problems using the latest 570 drivers, but it's a tradeoff for problems in general desktop usage. Unless you're using linux though, I wouldn't recomend switching between drivers per use case.
  12. All my performance woes thus far have always been due to nvidia's awful firmware. I believe I have your same model of gpu. which drivers are you using? I hate that so many computers these days come with nvidia hardware packed in. Never tried amd or intel gpus yet, but they can't possibly be any worse, right?
  13. Do you live very far north, or very far south? If so, what is your current month?
  14. More than likely you simply don't have enough power. Remove the large gear and try again. I personally like to prototype my machines in creative mode.
  15. That appears to be a mod. Does the mod db page have any info?
  16. Strange, there's been cases when the ui freezes and the green arrow doesn't progress, but the food still cooks. Are you sure the meal doesn't cook all the way through, and that it isn't just the ui arrow that freezes?
  17. Makes sense. You can interbreed dogs because they're all technically the same species. Inter-species hybrids like a mule are rare, and always born infertile.
  18. The number on the bottom represents the fuel temp. The number in the arrow represents the food's temp. In the image you posted, it looks like it's cooking just fine. You don't even need the fuel's temp to remain above cooking temp the whole time, because the food temp will only begin to drop once there is a significant enough difference between fuel and food temp, although it only rises when the fuel temp is higher. I'm guessing that 200 represents a sort of max food temp. If I recall correctly, the cooking temp of red meat is 150. This means you get a maximum of 50 degree buffer for cooking red meat. edit: this sort of reflects real-life cooking mechanics. Your stove fire may be really hot, well above 250 degrees. but because the boiling point of water is 100 degrees, most food cannot physically get hotter than 100, until after all the water has evaporated.
  19. One thing I like about this community vs the other block game, is that I don't detect any vanilla purism attitudes. If mods help to create the experience you're looking for, nobody is going to make fun of you for using them. that being said, something as novel as lycanthropy would need to be a significant overhaul of the gameplay experience before I'd personally consider installing it. That is to say, I wouldn't expect it to be a complement to the main game, but instead an alternative to the main game. The concept is novel enough that if it doesn't significantly alter the gameplay experience, I wouldn't install it. if I were you, I would start off with a complementary sort of mod first, if you have no experience modding.
  20. like, in game?
  21. Though I cannot speak with any authority, I wonder if there are some technical constraints on this. I've noticed that the more zoomed out the map is, the longer it takes for the map to load. I'm betting the effect is exponential, and that simply allowing the map to zoom out more would lead to problematic loading times. The solution therefore would be much more difficult to implement than simply changing a setting. They might have to implement some sort of map LOD system for very large ranges, similar to image compression. I couldn't even begin to imagine how that might be implemented though, cuz I don't have a phd in linear systems.
  22. Your standard of "bare-minimum" might be different than mine...
  23. Most linux issues I've personally experienced have to do with nvidia drivers, rather than the distro. I'm guessing that like me, your graphics card firmware will give you more woe than your distro will. I've heard amd firmware is better. I sure hope that remains the case by the time I build my next desktop.
  24. I think sticks are fine as they are. Shears can get you all the sticks you need. maybe what needs to happen though, is the guide should be clearer about how players should use shears to collect sticks.
