  1. I'm pretty sure the only way to do this right now is to have a multiplayer server where you normally play on an account that doesn't have admin privileges. You obviously don't have to invite others to play on the server if you want to play solo.
  2. I hate mods!!! ...but I've had so much trouble finding bees, I think I'll add that one. I'm up to 3 mods, lol (the others being my greenhouse mod, and the light level check for monster spawns).
  3. Nice touch on the image, lol. But yes, agreed. I think seeds have maybe a little too much variance, but it's not a huge problem. It's GOOD game design that you often have to travel a ways to get a few things.
  4. this kind of thing can maybe happen if there are too many password resets too quickly. Might need to let it rest a moment then try again. But good luck with support if that doesn't work!
  5. ahhhhh, yeah, need to talk to the VS discord admins then.
  6. I don't think discord knows if you own the game or not unless you link them up somehow. If discord banned you, there might be some other reason. Can you access Servers other than the Vintage Story server on there?
  7. This makes sense as a way to just make decorative blocks. Obviously, it wouldn't be reasonable to make the game determine a function for them. I like the idea.
  8. That, and discord is FULL of nasty hackers and bots.
  9. have you tested the headphones with other audio sources like just music on youtube?
  10. But you had better love pizza or I'll feel deceived!!!
  11. I have a confession. My real legal name and PC name are not "Vexxvididu." My PC name is actually "owner" which proves I am the supreme owner of all! (I'm just being silly, it's a silly thing to make a big deal out of)
  12. This is likely a bug and not something intended. If you figure out how to reproduce it, open a ticket.
  13. did you maybe switch off temporal stability entirely with a command or in the settings or with a weird mod? Make sure temporal stability is still on in the world.
  14. This system is good for avoiding abuse, but I think would be overly punishing. Losing Terra Preta is what people would want to avoid.... I think maybe it's enough punishment so that if you move Terra Preta, you just get empty terra Preta.
  15. yes, but we obviously don't want that for soil in the same way, because that would be easy to abuse.
  16. This would get messy REALLY FAST because with the random floating point values, no 2 pieces of partly repleanished land would be the same so you'd not have the inventory space to move much. I like the original suggestion of only letting the farmland maintain if it's maxed out. OR maybe if it's only partly refilled, round the value down to some fixed values or even zero. Of course.... moving farmland is arguably only worth it for Terra Preta. It would make sense if they made this a property of only that soil type I think.
  17. I'm pretty sure you'd have to make a mod for this. Lakes seem to not be directly configurable in the world gen (just oceans are).
  18. Clay is super common in Vintage Story. Since finding my first clay, I've found several more big slabs of it kind of near my base. I think it's mostly just an issue of being able to spot it for new players. Odds are you have it near your base in less than the equivalent distance of a 5 minute drive.
  19. if you have no good ores within a great distance from your base in all directions, it could be a sign you just got a really bad area.... but it's unusual you'd not have something within a half day's walk from your base. Maybe post a screen shot of your map around your bass with the prospecting pick locations?
  20. Just to add to @LadyWYT great answer, I also wanted to point out that when making things out of clay, you can press "F" to bring up the menu of different settings for placing or removing clay. This is very useful instead of placing one voxel at at a time. This is especially helpful when making big items like the clay oven. You also will often use the copy previous layer option. Just wanted to point this out since it's an easy thing for new players to miss!
  21. https://mods.vintagestory.at/steadygreenhouses I've talked about it on this forum before and finally decided to release it. It's a pretty simple mod. It just replaces the +5 C for berries and crops with a final temperature of 20 C. This should mean you can grow crops and eat berries all year in your greenhouses.

  22. You can likely find places like that in just about any seed, but can't count on just starting there. You got to do some exploring. I know some people keep trying seeds until they love their start locations. This is possible, but just takes a lot of tries. The world generation has a lot of variability.
  23. I agree on all points. Popularity isn't bad in and of itself, but big communities seem to destroy themselves for various reasons. And in particular, big companies tend to make bad artistic decisions. That's what we've been talking about in a nutshell. I also agree with all your examples. Early WoW was a great improvement over older MMO's like EverQuest but then got weirder and dumber over time... And Skyrim was okay but horrible compared to Morrowind or Daggerfall.
  24. AGREED!!!! This has been a major problem with every game that ever gets popular. The community gets flooded with people who demand absurd changes that don't even remotely fit in the game. This always happens at any level of popularity, but it gets worse when games get trendy... Trend hoppers demand to make the game more generic trash.
  25. Welcome to the forums and the game! SO, if you are using any mods that modify world generation, then a world seed might look very different for you than the same seed in a vanilla game. If you aren't liking the worlds you're getting, you might consider removing those mods. Also know that all sorts of things in your settings can totally change the world generation from the same seeds.
