  1. haha we think alike - the entire reason I put in a request besides wanting the soil texture is because I wanted to use my custom berry bush / flower bed frames I had chiseled. I can't believe the progress you've made already
  2. Ooooh the little trowels are so cute, this looks amazing already
  3. I'm not sure how to go about this so thought I'd maybe ask on here? I really like the rich brown colour of terra preta and high fertility soil, and want to keep that colour for my berry cuttings and flower beds. I know you can plant flowers on tilled soil but you can't plant cuttings, and I'd prefer not to till for my flower beds if possible. The problem is that the green grass texture slowly creeps back over the soil. The only way to keep the blocks the colour I want involves chiseling them, which then makes them useless for planting things on. I don't want all the soil blocks to stay brown, just specific ones I designate. I have absolutely no idea how to implement this, as any modding I've done has been simple texture pack tweaks from TOBG. I think maybe a recipe would be the way to go but then again I've got no clue rip Any thoughts on how to do this, or anyone willing to make this happen would be greatly appreciated
  4. Powdered Flint looks similar to Powdered Borax - did you maybe get the two mixed up? I've done it before and tore my hair out looking for it lol Maybe go back and check where you keep your leather-making items - it could be hiding in with your borax/lime
  5. That willow design looks so nice!!! I'm excited to see what other flora and fauna is going to be added in the future. As for logos, there are aspects that I like from all of them. I think I'm most partial towards Bravo 2A, but I also really like how front and center the gear is in Alpha 4B, and how the tree trunks are separated and one is clearly decayed in Alpha 1A. I'm looking forward to the combat overhaul, as I personally don't like engaging in any form of combat currently with how it's implemented. I'm also interested to see what other weapons are going to be added (maybe pole-arms, daggers, a flail or whip, a lance for when you have the elk?) Keep up the great work
  6. It will be interesting to see how they implement crocs and hippos in the future (pretty sure I saw a post with some animation demos they were working on) I will have to give up my hobby of diving for shells when they finally implement those menaces... buuuuuut croc armour would be really really cool
  7. As a millennial struggling to gain footing in the housing market, my dream home Jokes aside, I'd love to build some of the key locations my players have visited in my DnD Homebrew world. So much cool/outlandish architecture *sighs*
  8. NilHero - delightful childlike glee when running into new mechanics/creatures/situations TimmyTwoNipples - generally just a good player and also quite funny Solstin - his Eisenholm series is fantastic and also ongoing - can't wait to see what he builds next Kurazarrh - great for first time players who are trying to learn the game, has a long "Desert Life" series with some dope builds RubixRaptor - if you enjoy unserious roleplay servers with "lore" and longer form videos MajongBlonsky - really chill Czarls - makes beautiful, detailed build tutorials
  9. Ooooh I really like this idea. Perhaps a compromise with the surface instability is that it's "uncommon" or "rare", which would be exciting when you actually stumbled across it because it would mean there was a going to be something cool to go find beneath the surface. Perhaps tie that in with the procedural dungeons they've been working on?
  10. "It's your journey. It's your world. You can do whatever the hell you want with it." When I first started playing Vintage Story, I went into the world settings and configured everything to my liking, because the game allowed me to do that. When I encountered things after world spawn that I didn't like/found too difficult, I found a command or mod to counteract it (knapster and juicy ores my beloved). Temporal stability, storms, and rifts got turned off because I wanted to explore and build first so I could understand the basic mechanics. I turned them back on with longer times between storms, storms being shorter, and sleeping during storms turned on. I have bells removed from the game entirely via a mod because I find the noise they make jarring, and creatures are set to passive. You have options (many of them), so you should use them. Certain options not available that you specifically want? Start learning to mod or put in a mod request. Just because the base game doesn't suit your particular play-style doesn't mean that the mechanics are "holding the game back". That's a bit silly.
  11. I'd love to see freshwater and oceanic versions of eels and rays personally I want the water noodles and water pancakes please and thank you
  12. Very Low Oboe, it's the least obnoxious imo
  13. Aha! Thanks for the quick response Good to know I won't have to go sorting through my mods list
  14. Exactly what it says on the tin, folks! I recently went through my first medium temporal storm in my new forever world, and only drifters spawned. The previous storms graced me with drifters, bowtorn and shivers (absolute banger parties they were). Is this a rare occurrence in game? I'm on v 1.21.5 I do play with mods, but the only thing that affects spawns is that I have Bells turned off (hate the blasted things and the noise they make).
  15. Hello! Welcome to the forums. Are you sure it's a mod? Some player classes have bonuses to gathering certain items, such as the Malefactor. Malefactors get a bonus to foraging (crops, berries, mushrooms, resin, surface ore bits) and cracked vessel loot drops. It's why I love playing them so much
  16. Hello, After the glue is made you need to take a bowl and right-mouse-button click on the liquid within the pot directly. This will transfer a small amount of glue to the bowl each time. A bowl only holds one litre of glue, but I believe you can do the same thing with a bucket as well.
  17. I'm not a modder or model creator sorry I just wanted to drop in and say that the model you've done so far looks fantastic, and this little snippet of the hopping movement looks really good! This is aussie approved
  18. Ah I see, shame they don't point to anything Would have been cool if they did though Maybe in further updates there will be more little symbols and bits of graffiti in the ruins - they add a nice little touch of world building
  19. Was running around in a new world and came across a ruin with this little symbol on the wall. Does it direct to anything within the ruin? I dug around for a bit but didn't find anything extra in the walls or flooring. I'm pretty sure I've seen other ruins with this painted on it in my other worlds too
  20. It was a rose quartz one too Was just chugging along in an basalt quartz vein hunting silver when I noticed a strange pocket of granite and then boom pretty pink crystals! The desire to make pink glass is strong.... but crystals in a display case is good too

  21. Hi everyone! Thank you all for commenting and letting me know that you also have struggled locating these elusive rock types I'm gonna try locating them via the ores that can spawn in them so fingers crossed
  22. Is there a trick to finding Kimberlite and Phyllite? I'd like to use some for a build but I've had no luck locating it, and I haven't found anything in the handbook to help either. Any help would be appreciated
  23. Ah okay, I thought passive mode meant the drifters and locusts would also fall into the same mode as the wildlife I guess it means I get to try out a new world then Thank you!
  24. Hi everyone! Relatively new player and loving the game so far (the mods the community have made are fantastic, especially for accessibility options) I'm playing a world on passive mode and I've noticed that drifters and locusts won't attack me after I've hit them. I've attacked passive wolves, bears are bad news, rams, and boars and they've always tried to attack me in return. Is this by design or do I need to fiddle with something in the config settings? Thank you
