  1. one thing that I noticed pretty quickly is that the Rot is probably the putrifaction stage of alchemy? it's all self explanatory, with the game being rife with alchemial references, and alchemy being fundamental to the lore. it's black, and decays all organic matter; before matter can be further refined, it must first be cleansed. it is also seems to be associated with a period of innermost suffering and strife when discussed in the context of Carl Jung. Another thing I wanted to mention is how the surface is (mostly) unaffected by a lot of the timey wimey problems the world is suffering compared to underground. It seems to be correlated with the elevation of TGW, as it was located VERY DEEP below the surface of the earth. It's strange in any case, as the TGW seems to have been designed for the condition of the surface if anything. That being said, the Rot magically vanishing and life returning in a single moment seems too good to be true, and it's even mentioned that it will return. That is to say, the TGW seemed to only delay the inevitable, if anything. Just what did TGW do to get rid of the Rot? Is it basically a causality version of GitHub? In that it created a Git "branch" of the state of life before the Rot, but now the side "branch" and the main "branch" are having a "merge conflict" of sorts? Did TGW manage to treat the world of the Rot's symptoms, but not cure the cause of the disease? Meaning that the Rot will return due to the signs of it being erased, not the origin of it to begin with. Or something else entirely
  2. Encountered this same exact bug. Only happens if you try filling a container with a stack of filled jars/bowls at once. very frustrating. I hope it's on the devs radar, as it is disruptive. Methinks it's caused by some sort of floating point or rounding error caused by several non integer numbers doing arithmatic at once.
  3. Should I make a post in the game suggestions subforum? This seems too important to not have in the game
  4. Another question to ask could be: How would we make temporal storms more fun and engaging?
  5. Unfortunate :(. I wish there was a more tidy/informative section on host rocks for ore. Either that, or changing the section on rock strata to be more concise and include host rocks.
  6. I have a prospecting result pip, and I want to be able to click on the ore and guide links that show when hovering over said pip. However, I cannot seem to be able to find a way to keep my cursor hovering over the pip and be able to click the link at the same time. My intent is to be able to see the host rocks for each ore type.
  7. Read from many people (so I can safely say that it is the general consensus) that the mechanic needs lots more polish, but its not exactly unbearable or unfair. the game gives you generous warning in advance. With the default setting, the earliest 1 comes after you already had plenty of time to get on your feet, & you still scale appropriately as they get more frequent. They don't really last long, either. As a new player, overall they are more of a nuisance than anything, & I like how its reminiscent of Emissions from S.T.A.L.K.E.R Make harsh conditions even more harsh? Imo thats even worse. I dont really see the problem with the temporal stability mechanic besides being unintuitive. Hard disagree. Rifts being temporary is what makes them fair to begin with. If they were permanent, they would be extremely unpopular. You don't even need a mod to fix or change these mechanics to your liking, only that you fiddle with some world settings. I do agree that unstable regions are BS, and at min should have some visual indication.
  8. Resolution seems to also be a gigantic FPS hog as well. No luck with the mod, it didn't seem to improve the FPS at all.
  9. Hytale and VS have radically different design philosophies and goals, so idk why you think that. Like they are so different that they probably have a very small player overlap.
  10. My system is on Linux, and I have a RTX 3070 & Ryzen 7 7700, and I wanted to get the most out of my specs on the game. On medium, I struggle to get 144fps with the recommended render distance, and I wanted to know how I could get a stable 144fps on medium or better graphics if possible. My install method is the flatpak on arch
  11. Thank you. I appreciate it very much
  12. Is there any other files that should be, or need to be backed up? I just want to be safe rather than sorry.
  13. And you leave the sneaking state after moving, period. Which kinda makes it redundant, right
  14. While playing with a friend, they fell down a very deep pit (which are super common for some reason,) and they took no damage. Apparently, they landed on the edge of a block. They also said that there were a few other times where they didn't take fall damage when they should have. Is this a bug, or what is the deal?
  15. We desperately need this. Me and a friend both agree that the default player voice is far too loud
  16. I was wondering what the proper way to backup server data on a Linux host is I discovered that VS doesnt seem to backup the world or corruptable data (like player data) OOTB I have a few questions in this regard: a. Is there a proper or intended way to backup server data b. If not, what would the most convenient and reliable method. I assume a crontab c. What folders r files need to be backed up
  17. I think adding a mechanic that allows you to become sneaky, and to inch towards animals would also make it less frustrating.
