Pretty simple one, you can put  lanterns on your belt so you dont have to use an offhand, hotbar, or inventory slot.

It's extemely annyoing to have to switch to a sheild in caves and at night, only to be left in total darkness

Also please dont make it take extra hunger like offhand does, IRL I dont suddenly need to eat another entire meal a day because I have a like 2? pound lantern on my belt

I'm all about making new players life more easy.

But having fire at your belt level seems very unsafe IRL and thus would brake immersion for me. :) I would more agree on having some glowworms in glass storage once it would become possible. :) Placing torches around cave is one thing for me, which makes cave exploring more rewarding for me, as drifters won't spawn then and seeing all cave lit gives some nice feeling once you have explored it.

I think I remember Tyron saying they'll concentrate on features not already made by modders first.

A hot lantern on your belt might give a little less light (as it's on a lower height and arms and stuff getting in light's way every so often) but not give as much (if any) of the hunger penalty, could give a thirst penalty when/if thirst gets introduced though instead.

I like the idea of putting a lantern in your backpack slot, so you can trade storage for illumination with two free hands. Definitely getting a thumbs up from me.
