That ingot thing, if im understanding it right, i can break a hot freshly poured ingot (after it solidifies but is still hot) out of its mold so i can begin smithing with it immediately? If thats the case, huge, i remember thinking i wish I could do that, because surely the ingot would solidify but still be hot enough to smith with at some point after it was poured.

Judging from the patch notes, it seems that players were able to do that in previous versions, with that exploit now being fixed.

Sounds like you get the benefit of smithing the hot ingot at the cost of an ingot mold.  Sounds like a fair trade.

And considering the new beehive kiln, you can probably make plenty of ingot molds pretty quick in the endgame.

Yes, beehive kiln is pretty cheap to run, full kiln with 36 molds would cost 288 firewood (1 costs 8), what is probably more efficient than two molds costing 4 firewood, 8 sticks and 10 dry grass (22 items total) in a pit kiln.
(Also I did not test if the beehive kiln cannot be made even cheaper by placing like only half stacks of firewood under.)

But still, the limiting factor here will be manual clayforming.

36 ingot molds = 18 pit kilns = 72 firewood, and more importantly, peat. Yes, it's also 180 grass and 144 sticks, though those are pretty easy to come by once you have scythe and shears.

Apart from lanterns, what else does onw pour ingots for after iron age?

Oh, right. You made a sorter, didn't you @Vratislav I kind of forgot about that.

Most of the chute stuff I just don't find enough use for. Sure, a hopper on top of the pulverizer, but I don't need the ones at the bottom.  I just run the thing while I'm doing something else, and running around picking up stuff 3-4 times per game day is just not that big of a deal. There's only so much pulverizing that needs to be done. After which, it's mostly pulverizing for the sake of pulverizing. That's not to say there won't be a need for it as new Chapters get added, but as it stands now, I much more enjoy the early game rather than to continue in what I think has mostly become just an activity.

Was the 1.20.1 change to not popping up the info log for prospecting results or temporal storm warnings intentional?

I think I found a solution. Settings > Interface > "Auto open Chat only on current group", untick the box.

I'm not sure it was intentional; friend of mine reported it as a bug and it's still listed on the bug tracker with the "new" tag. Definitely gonna try your suggestion to see if it's a workaround for now though. I got caught off-guard by a temporal storm the other day, and while it was certainly a thrill, I'm not keen on repeating the experience anytime soon! 🤣

Spearheads. Spears are great for stabbing things through an open window in your house, and bronze is the endgame spear.
