I noticed not many people use signatures on the forums here. somewhat sad, seeing as there's even a setting to toggle them if you don't wanna see them. does anyone here have an exceptionally cool/silly signature they wanna share, or have any exceptionally cool/silly signatures from other people they wanna give attention to? I'm kind of a sucker for formatting in places like these, please let me see how creative some of y'all can get!!

I think they're on by default now, but used to be off by default once upon a time. I don't recall ever messing with that setting and I've always been able to see forum signatures.

I can't take credit for it.   Some business person a few decades ago first uttered those words.   Being a dragon lover and somewhat off center, I fell in love with it.   It's been my online signature for 25+ years.

I like seeing people's signatures but don't know what to put for my own. Some people are being a bit grouchy in this thread!

EDIT:  Want to add that only a very classless dragon would put ketchup on a human or other kind of meat! lol.

that's a completely valid take. ik someone else here found mine distracting, but given how silly and flashy it is in comparison to the page color I really don't blame them LOL

I don't mind the grouch! I asked for opinions on forum signatures, I got them. can't chew then don't order I guess. also, don't feel old, just feel wise bestie.

I'm a bit old school, so these sorts of forums were my bread and butter for decades, and I take the opportunity to stick something in the sig section when creating my account. That said, lots of sites either turn them off by default, or allow users to disable them. They've become a bit of a lost art. It's funny too as those of you old enough may remember the massive craze for "userbars" (thin vertical bars, with branding on it) for sigs in the late 90s' early 00s'. In fact in a moment of retro fun I may create a userbar for VS.

 

My sig is currently a Henley poem, or an excerpt at least. On other forums it's also likely to contain some form of cutting political barb aimed at the most hateful in society - which may be a very prescient concern, but I feel might not fit the vibe of the forum, so I've stayed away from political (or anti-theistic) rabble rousing.. heh, for now! ;)

I get it. It’s weird not really knowing what these guys are talking about. It’s also quite jarring when I look at the forums on a device that has signatures displayed, as there’s now all sorts of crazy stuff everywhere.

That said, I’ve made myself a signature to provide a helpful reminder about one of the afflictions that plague our society to those seeking enlightenment.

I don't think you're the only one that's added a signature since the creation of this thread. There's been a few more cropping up, which has been pretty funny to witness.

ouuu okay I see you. I was tempted to do a quote from a storybook I read as a kid, eventually decided against it. my current gif feels correct

ah poo. that's probably my fault, I deleted tons of images in my attachment area recently so I'll go fix that in a moment. but yeah, looking at that one it is rather distracting. glad I made mine smaller now LOLL

<----- is guilty of adding a signature because of this thread. though I will most definitely change the signature if i change my photo.. they go hand in hand

Yours might just be my new favorite signature given that the mental image of Marvin trying to survive in Vintage Story is really something.
