Armen Deljanin Posted December 25, 2025 Report Posted December 25, 2025 Hi All! This is my first forum post, so take it easy on the new guy. I went to bed in my world after hunting some boar and creating my charcoal pit. I slept pretty well, feeling like I was finally making some progress. Yet as I wake up, I hear it, flames and the pyrolosis of materials close to my abode! I run out and to my utter horror do I see a fire has broken out on the homestead, being such a novice player I had no idea how to extinguish the inferno, pushing my property line back, so I gathered all my belongings and ran, but not before getting a couple of screenshots for your comedic relief. 4 7 1
LadyWYT Posted December 25, 2025 Report Posted December 25, 2025 Welcome to the forums(and the game)! This was a much needed laugh. 29 minutes ago, Armen Deljanin said: I had no idea how to extinguish the inferno I mean, honestly...you really don't extinguish this kind of inferno. You just don a pair of sunglasses and stand back to enjoy the show, as well as eat whatever wildlife happened to get barbecued in the process. 1
Zane Mordien Posted December 25, 2025 Report Posted December 25, 2025 This is why I always build with dirt! Also I like that there is so much burning peat that it just shows as a white blob on the mini map.
Michael Gates Posted December 27, 2025 Report Posted December 27, 2025 It's like a rite of passage! Only, more of a rite of burnage
CastIronFabric Posted December 27, 2025 Report Posted December 27, 2025 That does look like fun and what I am about to say is not a dig at you just a general observation. This image is a good example of why its good to watch some youtube tutorials before playing any game.
hstone32 Posted December 29, 2025 Report Posted December 29, 2025 I've said it before, but I really think peat should need to be dried before it can burn, kind of like how you need to dry out bowstaves. It occurs in wet areas like swamps or places with high rainfall, so it doesn't make sense that it can ignite at any time like refined petroleum. 1

At min, have it protected from the rain but I like the idea of it having to dry as well, say 20 hours or something. 1
ArgentLuna Posted December 30, 2025 Report Posted December 30, 2025 Once done, tends to not be a repeat experiance 2
