I have to admit I'm confused; you use the mixing bowl while it's on the ground, holding right click to 'mix' or like a quern 'grind' the ingredients together

but I'm probably not being helpful so I'll be confused quietly lol; maybe l33tmaan can figure out what you mean :)

If you place a filled bowl or cooking pot on the ground with 6 items (not 6 servings) in it, it crashes the game

Got the same problem. Newest game and mod version.

I would really not recommend grabbing mead with bottles. There's enough issues with mead as it is, we don't need to add more on top of it.

As for the bowl/cooking pot issue... I can't replicate it. I just made a salad with 6 items in every slot and I was able to place the bowl/pot on the ground without issue. What are the exact steps you're following?

ANNOUNCEMENT:

DO NOT MAKE ANY MORE BREADED VEGETABLE/MEAT BALLS! EAT ALL THE ONES YOU HAVE! THIS INCLUDES MEALS!

ALSO, DO NOT MAKE ANY ACORN-BREADED ITEMS!

Other breaded stuff is fine - just not balls. I'm working on a new breaded ball item that will include all food types in a single, much slimmer recipe. It'll be a while before I release it, but I'm warning everyone now. Sorry.

EDIT: To cut down the fat, I will also be removing the grain types from acorn breaded items. This is because they are 100% useless and I should never have included them in the first place. Double sorry.

EDIT: I think I just got rid of 1000 recipes by doing this...

I realize with the incoming change to fried nuggets, this may become obsolete. But I found another bug:

[BUG] Fried rye chicken nuggets (at least in salads) get labeled as rye bushmeat nuggets in the "will cook into" preview as well as the resulting meal/bowls.

Can't tell if this is just a mislabeling issue or an actual wrong ingredient, because there is so much stuff in those damn salads.

For me it is reproducable. I made these steps:
- Mix together 2*6 chopped onion, 2*6 chopped turnip, 6 cranberries, 6 blueberries to make salad
- place cooking pot on floor with shift+rmb
-crash

heres the log, i hope it may help:

ok, I hit some sort of weird bug; I took a bowlful of salad from my crock and the nutrition stats went nuts.  I generally keep my nutrition up so it's hard to tell if it really affected what I get when I eat it; I'll try to let my food bar go down alot before I take a bite and see what happens.

Thankfully from my tests this bug seems purely visual, I will try and figure out where it is getting that funky math for on the display.

I did this exact recipe and could not reproduce the crash, this seems like some type of incompatibility. Would you happen to be using some other mod that modifies cooking containers, like Xskills?

Yeah you're probably right about Xskills, ive got that along with wild farming, but I doubt it'd be wild farming

What do you mean by 'a sausage dish'? I just put 2 slices of redmeat and 2 links of aged sausage in a pot, cooked it, put it in a crock, got it with a bowl, and ate it.

I did not eat the bowl. It had normal spoil times, too? What did you make?

How many people have made meat hooks with really weird metals like bismuth or gold? I'm probably going to cut down on the number of metals that you can use to make meat hooks and spiles, since some of them are toxic and others would be too soft.

Personally copper, since I have boatloads of that ( I was lucky enough to find a cave with ultra high native Copper ( 37 ‰ ) , so I make the spiles , meat hooks , fishing stuff and non essential tools out of it.

I havent tried looking into modding ( crafting ) due to time restrictions but would it possible to have the smithing result of the metal hook just be a generic hook and not metal specific ? This way all metals would still be valid as a material and cutting back on the variants reducing them only to the different wood type used

The hook could just be a generic iron-y looking hook

Edit : Forgot to add
Main reason for asking this is because ore distribution is not always the same and sometimes you have to conserve metal you would use for your normal tools.
Someone could have bad luck and so far only find copper tin and hints of bismuth . If I were in that position I would hope if I could craft the hook out of bismuth to conserve my tin bronze / copper reserves for weapons, tools and maybe some armor

Bismuth is pretty toxic. I would probably limit things to copper, brass, bronze, and steel. Iron is questionable, but I could see it being acceptable.

As for having the hook just be a generic hook, that would mean eliminating all of the variant groups, which means everyone would have to remake every meat rack.

Copper is the most abundant metal in the game. Even if it does not spawn naturally in your area you can find decent sized surface deposits and even if the RNG is really rough on you and does not spawn any nearby surface deposits you can always pan for copper if you have the patience. And besides, the meat rack is a luxury item anyways like the hopper & chutes, nice to have, but completely unnecessary. You can still make and cook sausage, you just won't be able to get that boost from aging. If you are that desperate for copper that you cannot spare an ingot or two for a meat rack, then you are not at that point in the game to waste metals on non-essential items.
