i did just that, and was handed a reality check. i got creamed within the first few min. took a few worlds before i got my bearings, and learned how to survive.

Then you have the luck of an Irish. Cause mine was always ghost items. The lag on the server I play (due to my slow connection) was bad enough I managed to get 2 chiselled air blocks mined out (In fact I still have them on that server after multiple restarts). And the only reason that happened was I was working with chisels on stone blocks to get whole chiselled blocks.

ten to one that duplicate is a ghost item, and will dissapear as soon as you attempt to use it. particularly annoying on servers where the connection is not that great.

the mouflon i managed to get i had to herd with underground runs to the farm, and i had to aggro them to get them to chase me (cue death animations*7). very much dangerous, i agree. Then again, i'm sitting with a very substantial farm with a mix of different goats, bighorns and mouflon, and pigs.

Yes you can. You do need the same version of the game and server, but the underlying operating system really doesnt matter.

This for example is what I did on my Ranch on the server I am on.

Depends on the animal you want to catch. Even wild ones. Pigs you can generally herd in the general direction you want, but you do need to keep your distance, if they chase you, use that to your advantage and get them to chase you to the last point. Mouflon and bighorns there is only one way. Aggro them so they chase you, then run to where you need them. They will be hot on your tail, and mad like hornets stuck in their bonnet. Goats will need you to run after them and you need to try and steer them in the direction you want. Guaranteed method for me is long trenches, with doors seperating sections. And making sure each section is one way only. Then it's a simple matter of chasing the animals into the trenches, and from there its chasing them into the fenced of area.

when you hover over the tree sapling with the mouse, and press h, you will get a help page detailing the sapling, and temperature tolerances. including the temperature needed to vernalise, and what temperature(s) will kill it.

tbh, i havent bothered with tobg for so long i can in all honesty say i cant even remember my username/email/password. i care that little for that game now.

microsoft has a track record of having done just that before. so i am not putting this aside. i am expecting them (microsoft) to do just that

Tbh, I dont know. Havent been on that server in a few days as my usual laptop is in for repairs (At the time the server was still on 1.22.3). Using a backup laptop right now (Windows 10). Thats when the issues started. And by the time I got around to using the backup laptop to connect to that server (by then the server was upgraded to 1.22.5), the crashes occured. Havent been on the server since then as I am still waiting for my usual laptop to finish repairs.

I've heard of that as well, and considering the bedrock store, the fact that microsoft wants to implement a java side store is not beyong the possibility. And I fully expect microsoft to go out of their way to kill off the alternate java mod community, in an effort to maximise revenue from the java market place.

As I said, its someone elses server (I can give the ip). As for troubleshooting. 1.) Restarted the game (crash on right click placing item) 2.) Restarted the computer (crash on right click placing item) 3.) Removed all client side mods (crash on right click placing item) 4.) Deleted the vintagestory data folder, and tried again (crash on right click placing item) 5.) Uninstalled Vintage Story, deleted everything related for vintage story from the laptop, and reinstalled vintage story from a freshly downloaded full installer. (crash on right click placing item) Unless you can think of any other troubleshooting i could try, I threw everything, including the kitchen sink, and bath tub at that problem.

Its not my server (server is vanilla btw). As for your logs idea, i checked. No crash info anywhere.

as it is, my luck is just as bad, so i dont bother with water cooling freshly made iron/steel tools anymore. the risk of the new tool/weapon breaking, and you not getting anything back to recover the hard work put into making it, is not worth the effort

Personally, I go for 2 block high fences on the outside perimeter of my animal farm, with 1 block high fences on the inside. Never had a problem with wolves/hyenas/bears spawning inside my pens. But in the unlikely scenario one did manage to spawn in my farm, the damage is quite literally limited to 1 -2 pens, and that's it. My design will trap any and all predators.

The way things are going now, its like microsoft is actively trying to destroy Minecraft. They openly admitted that critical bugs that was reported will never be fixed. I haven't played it myself since 2017 I think. And after what microsoft did to steal the skyblock concept from the original developer and destroyed him with lawsuits. SELLING fake sky block maps on the bedrock marketplace, and going out of their way to protect the thief's that stole the original (amongst other crimes on the bedrock marketplace), there isn't enough hate against minecraft imo. Yes they did open the door for other sandbox games like it, but minecraft will die with the way its managed right now. I'd rather play Vintage Story.

Looking forward to it, and hope the development goes well.

Is there an estimated date for release (even if it's Windows only for now)? Would love to give it a spin.
