  1. If it's one of the four special locations, then (obviously) I sit corrected - and very joyfully so!
  2. There shall be NO horses!!! Horses are so overdone in games. I like that horses don't appear in base game and I hope they never do. Personally, I'd like to ride a ram instead of an elk; but the elk pleases my non-conformist nature. Hopefully Tyron will add that capacity in the future. A few thoughts on this. This may not show up this update if Tyron is experimenting with enabling this feature (c.f. ropes) or if this is foundational work for implementing NPC towns in a future update. I would LOVE to see human settlements, especially if they are spaced dramatically farther apart than traders.
  3. Definitely cargo room - 7 chests worth (as disclosed in other news releases in the VS discord) Passengers? Don't know. It's not a problem of size, but does Tyron code it for such. I think I'd be surprised if it doesn't.
  4. cook pot and bowl. 7 high satiety meals when you leave and you have the ability to cook more no matter where you go or how long you stay out there.
  5. But pies only give 2 nutrition values so you have to use 2 inventory slots to get grain plus up to 2 other nutrition values. Plus the satiety for a single serving is much lower than a serving for a meal. All in all, I think Tyron balanced these two meal options very well.
  6. @LadyWYT But where's the fun in sharing some fly agaric or even death cap laced meals with your friends?
  7. Here's a couple that are current and are pretty entertaining... https://www.youtube.com/c/Kurazarrh https://www.youtube.com/@Rakoona
  8. Without said mod it can be done. One just needs a lava source with enough space around it (below and the sides) to make a generator possible.
  9. I didn't watch the video and responded based off your comment and assuming (yes bad, I know) the video was about TOBG.
  10. The big problem with performance in that other block game, is JAVA is totally the wrong program to use. VS is written in C# and from the get go has performance in mind. Pretty sure almost everything in that video does not apply to VS.
  11. That is on the roadmap.
  12. Spyglass adds a spyglass to zoom the view for the modest cost of 2 ingots and some glass. Step up is a QoL mode that will treat one block elevation changes like a stair so you don't have to constantly jump up a hill. Fancy Sky improves the sky Actually Quicklime fixes the logical error with crushed lime temp resetting after one item is cooked.
  13. Goats should be domesticated at gen 3 like other mammals.
  14. Be aware of: 1. This game is in early access 2. There is 1 person coding the game with some part-time help from time to time 3. The developer has recently estimated the game to be about 10% complete
  15. Not necessarily. I live in an area where quite a bit of the time you don't know it's going to rain until water is splattering off your head. Other times you can see a dark curtain under the cloud as it approaches. To me VS weather is realistic enough.
  16. Bummer about accidently deleting it.
  17. Welp, the left field, non-conformist in me is coming out here. I actually LOVE this interpretation. It's rather cute if you ask me. Gives me best friend vibes, especially the doodles in the other thread.
  18. Only if you log out. Otherwise you might return to a corpse. While it's unlikely a drifter will spawn in a confined area (unless it is meticulously constructed to eliminate storm spawn), it is still possible. Time it wrong and the inventory is lost from despawning.
  19. Vintage Story isn't JUST a survival game. It has a story. Temporal storms are a part of that story. Yes, they are pretty basic at this point. Remember this game is early access and not all features are implemented yet. In a recent interview Tyron has estimated the game is about 10% complete. That could be up to a whopping 15% in the two updates since that interview. Keep in mind that Tyron is the primary coder with the sometimes help of part-time coder(s). All things considered given the small development team, VS is an EXCELLENT game as is.
  20. East/west - you like the climate and want to go on long exploration journeys North - either it's too warm or too cold (to be non-conformist if you started in a bitterly cold start)
  21. I wasn't even thinking of the realism of it, just coding a simple sailing mechanic versus a semi-realistic one. Should Tyron implement a more realistic mechanic I'm sure he would come up with a simple semi-realistic calculation to approximate realistic sailing. And then we'd get complaints from real sailors how wrong it is.
  22. You can accidently set your wood house on fire. And wildfires are a thing. Drifters can also burn, although the only time I've managed it personally is from them wandering through my field of lit pit kilns coz I haven't bothered to confront a drifter with a torch.
  23. The coding is what concerns me. The two different mechanics require Tyron to make 2 sets of code, which would take time from other things getting implemented. I'll be happy with what he decides this go 'round and trust that he'll de-jank it in a future round of de-janking.
  24. If'n it's any consolation, we all got owned at some point. Painful experiences turn into sage wisdom. PS - Welcome to Vintage Story.
