Last night was mining olivine during a temporal storm. Towards the end killed a nightmare drifter to restore almost all of my temporal stability. While topping off the last stack of olivine in my inventory had a sawblade spawn practically on top of me. The first sign I knew it was there was it's first attack. The first sound of the buzzsaw wasn't heard until I was reading "Congratulations! You died." All I could think was "damn! That was quick."

I think the moral to the story is, bears are easy to kill when they swim. Without a stitch of armor I have disemboweled multiple swimming bears with my trusty falx.

Dead crops do not revive. You get the seed back but no produce. Heat stroked or frost bitten crops will provide increasingly less produce until it is dead.

[ Suggestion ] Unique Dungeon Crafting Recipies

Welcome back. Say hi to Dave in your next temporal storm. -
Really? I've got about 120 hours on 1.19 and have 4 stacks of the stuff. Although I think 2 of those were purchased from a trader.

Why is this happening when I try to cut open iron blooms?

And there's the odd mod interaction that I failed to consider. Good work Mr. Holmes! -
fixing whatever the hell this is supposed to be

It shouldn't be hard to have the fleeing animal run along the waters edge until a more favorable direction presents itself. If cornered, then run into the water. -
Stay tuned. 1.20 may have more horrors. There's been some concept art teasing released in the past couple weeks.

That's bizarre. I've been banging out iron blooms on a bismuth bronze anvil. Helping my quad helve hammer set up without any troubles whatsoever. -
Is this a bug? - Above ground infinite water block
Maelstrom replied to jumpityjumpjump's topic in Questions
No programming bugs. What you got there is a rare aquatic cabbage. Looks like a fresh water aquatic cabbage at that. To prevent propagation of aquatic vegetables and grains it is highly recommended you take care with the water in your bucket. Apparently, seraphs are something of a sorcerer's apprentice. -
For flatter worlds, consider increasing the uplift setting. You may want to look for terrain mods in the mod database.

If you are playing on a 1.19 version before x.6 or x.7 you are experiencing poor animation problems. If you are playing on the latest version (1.19.7) then this is likely a bug and needs to be reported. -

Most likely the animals aren't pathfinding to find something favorable, but to flee the seraph. I agree it would be nice if the animals did not swim so much. It wasn't this bad in previous versions so I suspect something "broke" in the most recent update. -
Kurazarrh has a guide series on youtubes that shows where to aim to place a slab in the desired orientation. After seeing that episode (in the first season) it made placing blocks MUCH easier.

Newbie forge mistakes are costly - could use a more intuitive mechanic
Maelstrom replied to Maethius's topic in Suggestions
I know for a fact (coz I was doing this last night) that I added charcoal then ingots then lit the forge followed by adding charcoal, lighting forge and adding ingots followed by adding more charcoal to an already lit forge and throwing on more ingots to heat. The problem I run into is accidently taking an ingot off the forge because I don't crouch to light the forge. -
Clutter items need to be repaired with glue before breaking them otherwise they break. Some folks don't want the clutter and don't like clogging their inventory while exploring ruins so the breaking clutter is intentional.

It would be nice if there were better stuff in there. I've only bought three maps and haven't bothered with the third because they always are at the bottom of a nearby lake.

I'd take vintage beef over some of the stuff I've found. Considering that vintage beef not only is food, but heals 2 hp as well al while not suffering from rotting to compost.

Hopefully the recently hired animator will attend to this.

@Thorfinn Imagine if you will, a stack of sticks in a chest in the smithy and all that was smithed/smelted was a single tool head. It's a pain to pick up more than one from the stack to place one in the crafting grid and replace the stack to craft the single tool.

I was out and about on a calm rift night to explore and gather some resources (I think I was looking for trees for my first batch of charcoal). I turned the corner around a two block high bush and saw a very nice statue not 2 blocks away from me. Upon seeing such a wonderful creation I said to myself, "self? I don't recall statues being in the patch notes." THEN my next thought was "YIKES!" with a very capital YIKES! as the realization hit that I was looking at a brown bear standing upon his hind legs looking off into the distance while I gawked at him all nice and nekkid - not one lick of armor upon my mostly fragile frame. Granted blackguard aren't the fleetest of foot, but somehow I managed to beat feet the heck outa Dodge before that bear managed to land a claw on me. Never saw it after that even though I've traipsed over that territory incessantly in the year since as it's a route to much of less common resources (chalk, olivine, etc).

Think I'll use it for the floor of my smithy.
