  1. I'm guessing that it is something that was mentioned in discord, back in the day. I'll be curious to hear the results if you do check it out!
  2. That's odd, I could have sworn berry flowers count towards bees. It was (iirc) in the same update that berries needed clear line of site above them in order to produce -- I even remember the world I had at the time and I needed to move some of my berries. I can't find mention of either thing in the News articles. I don't feel ambitious enough to look through my old worlds to find it though.
  3. We used to start out with a torch and several loaves of bread (and the first few days were drifter-free) so it wasn't too bad. I'm curious now to play that version and refresh my memory, although not sure where I've put those old installation files.
  4. I started with 1.5, just a couple of days before world maps and weather were introduced. I really do not recall what the progression, mechanics, or lore were at that point. I'd never played Minecraft or anything similar. To give you an idea of my ineptitude -- in my first world, I spawned in a narrow valley (heavily wooded) and bordered with steep terrain. I had no idea how to move, jump up, break a block or even exit the game. I enjoy looking at the scenery, exploring, admiring the flowers/plants and finding loot. Since the Resonance Archives, I've not been interested in later lore (other than curiosity about the sweet sweet loot) because it is just me and I'm not much on fighting. eta: it was seeing the chickens, and the way the chicks moved around the hen, that sold me on the game (Tyron was being interviewed or something)

  6. Hi! Welcome to the forum! If I'm understanding you correctly, CHAT is the link on the VS homepage entitled "Discord chat server?" If so, that link is an invitation to join. In order to log back in, you would only need to log in to Discord (no need to join VS chat server for a second time). It sounds to me as though you accidentally made a second Discord account when you joined the VS server. Instead of using your VS username & password, it should have been your original Discord info (I'm just guessing here; not an expert).
  7. That is a possibility. I do know that injured animals, regardless of the cause of injury (like falling off the side of a hill), will attack as if you're the aggressor.
  8. Yeah, it surprised me too. I should have mentioned this was a new world created in 1.21.5; I would have thought animal pathing had changed except that the other two pits worked as expected.
  9. I just scare them through. That is how I expected it to work, but they only ran in circles as if the solid wall was still there. Sometimes one would circle far enough to get into the space, and very rarely did a piglet circle wide enough to fall over the edge. None of them pathed away from me without circling. (this only happened in the first pit where the slab/fence was added after the piglets were already in the adult pit)
  10. I did some testing... while the piglet can fit between the slab and something above it, they would not path through that space in the first pit that I tried. In the second and third pits, I set up both the adult pit and the piglet pit at the same time with the slab & fence already in place before adding piglets (this was in creative mode). Piglets went through just fine; no problem. The first pit, I'd put the piglets in before adding the slab and fence. Piglets could not be induced to go through the space. Solution: lower the floor to the piglet pit so that they might accidentally fall in (they were running up to the wall and circling back). There were a couple that got through in this manner. The fence doesn't seem to be necessary, as far as I can tell. Seems to work whether the slab is on the bottom or on the top of the hole. Lowering the floor of the piglet pit by 2 blocks seems advantageous as they cannot get back to the adult side. [eta: oops! Hadn't noticed that @Zane Mordien's photo is already showing that extra height on the piglet side]

  12. Ah. Sorry about that. Just went into the game and you are correct. The only way to remove the head is with a pelt. Personally, this feels like it is not intentional to me. I'd report it to the issue tracker.
  13. The head can be removed in the crafting grid by placing a knife above the pelt.
  14. Did you accept "default" settings for world generation? If so, then sharing the seed will allow people to play the same world. However if you've made changes to the world settings, then they will not get the same world you're playing. Even choosing "patchy" climate will produce a different world (I play with "patchy" climate, which is how I know this to be true). @Blackbomber Seeds can be tricky. As @Vexxvididu mentioned, other settings in world customization can completely change the terrain. Not only do you need the seed, but also the world settings... AND sometimes mods too, as is the case for the River Mod. You might have better luck looking at ytubers using that mod, as you can see if their world appeals to you (some will share seeds and world settings).

  16. I was confused on that too, so did an experiment. Smaller numbers mean food lasts longer: 150% = berries good for 1 day; 50% = berries good for 4 days

  18. No. You are looking at the folder for the installed game. You want to be looking at the folder that contains your data (data meaning your personal files, such as saves and mods you are using). (see below post for wiki link)
  19. Having a warning is a good idea! Temporal Rifts have more description in the configuration screen; something like that would be helpful for Temporal Storms too.
  20. No, I missed that. I turn them off too - the edit to my post explains why. Well, that, and I do not like fighting.
  21. I've thought much the same myself, which is why I'm grateful we have the ability to customize a new world to our own preferences. Sleeping through, or waiting them out, leaves me wondering "What's the point?" eta: playing through storms is not an option for me as I get physically ill from the graphics and the residual effects last for hours
  22. Where is your Vintage Story installed? (eta: did you allow it to install to the default location or did you do a custom install?) Your error message shows the executable here: "Faulting application path: C:\Users\travi\AppData\Roaming\Vintagestory\Vintagestory.exe" AppData\Roaming is where your data files should be, not the game itself. Under the game directory (VIntagestory) is a folder for mods. That is only for the game itself (VSCreativeMod, VSEssentials, VSSurvivalMod), not user mods that we add. It even has a text file named "do_not_add_mods_here.txt". The mods that we add to the game belong in the VintageStoryData/Mods folder, which should be in AppData\Roaming\.
  23. Welcome to VIntage Story and the forums! I enjoyed hearing of your experience and would love to hear more. If you and your friends find temporal storms too 'unfun', there is a way to turn them off without having to start a new game. If you'd like that, please ask here and we'll let you know the command without you needing to go to the wiki.

  25. The Better Ruins mod is configurable, at least to the extent of defining when/if certain structures spawn. Not sure on the loot though. Probably still won't be your cup of tea, but thought I'd at least let you know.
