  1. (emphasis mine) This is incorrect, unless the policy has changed recently and that change has not been noted on the wiki homepage. Anyone can request access to modify the wiki:
  2. And it continues. Are you actually saying that you are unaware that your speech is inflammatory? I am blocking you so that I'm not tempted to engage further.
  3. Hmmm. A quick google search shows that brown bears (grizzly bears), at 35 mph, are about 5 mph faster than black bears. I don't know about Kodiaks or any other brown bears.
  4. You specifically said, "...which cause me to seethe with utter contempt for the developers."
  5. Perhaps one solution to the borax/lime/chalk/marble issue could be to provide a worldgen option for stone-type at/near spawn; default could be "random." Many people restart over and over again until they get the stone they want. Why not make it more convenient? Btw, @Discipline Before Dishonor, thank you for mentioning the BetterProspecting mod.
  6. There is only a small portion of the uncommon range that is not suitable for bees, so the risk is pretty low (it's my preferred area to settle and I've had no trouble finding bees).
  7. Common and Very Common cover 0.45-0.90 rainfall -- Uncommon and a tiny bit of Almost All The Time are also suitable for bees.
  8. I'm the same with shell-hunting! I started a new game last night in 1.21.5 and found 7 shells within the first 2 hours of gameplay (3 were in a cluster though).
  9. A rare loot drop would be okay, imo, but they've already made it much easier to find shells in the wild. Or perhaps I've had incredibly good luck. I just don't see the need to provide nearly instant gratification to everyone just because one player decides to play without a map, thereby forfeiting the ability to quickly find bodies of water.
  10. Your playstyle/desires sound well-suited to Limestone from Caves, which causes stalactites and stalacmites to drop limestone.
  11. Thank you so much for including this information about mods. I've been successfully using your method for a long time, up thru 1.21.1. However installation of 1.21.5 required some troubleshooting because it wasn't loading the mods. This additional switch fixed the problem. Much appreciated!!
  12. I do think that it has increased. I don't recall the first time I got a copper pickaxe (I started at the end of v1.5), but I was so thrilled! Then there was a long span where it seemed like I got nothing but grass and sticks. Sorry that I do not recall the version numbers when changes occurred, but I did notice an increase in copper tools when I was playing earlier this year.
  13. Came here to ask this very same question. Thank you so much, @jaelyn666 for posting your solution.
  14. To me, the way that the upper and lower lids are angled/exaggerated makes Kind look menacing. I dislike it intensely because of that. hmm.. in fact, a comparison between angry and kind supports my observation. When one is contemplating taking aggressive action against someone else, the eyes narrow; that is what I notice in the eyes of "kind." (eta: in "angry" the eyebrows are also involved -- the brows are not always involved when it comes to being menacing, it's the narrowing of the eyes)
  15. Probably more like a buffalo (North American)..

    1.21.0

No, I meant the area for downloading the pre-release does not require a login. It is just like going to the member area for the normal release, except that you do not need to login. Direct links used to be given in discord, back in the day (I don't know about now). Getting a pre-release here does not depend on it being a direct link.
  17. Do not move appdata! Thorfinn meant to move the VIntage Story user data out of appdata. Someone will be along that can help you, or I can when I get back home. Just do not move appdata.

    1.21.0

Yes, that is correct. The initial authentication does requires login, although updates do not. I always play offline.

    1.21.0

Actually you do not need to be logged in for the pre-release download.
  20. Looks like it is for 1.20; @traugdor, are you speaking of 1.21-pre2 as the most recent version?
  21. That is the kind of magic that I would feel comfortable with as well. @Arcane Gunslinger To me, religion is a very personal thing that involves acts of worship; it involves relationships. I think we are describing the same depth of intimacy and the same phenomenon, especially with your inclusion of this phrase (emphasis mine) "and intertwined with the world’s logic and entities." In Echo Weaver's example of a more immersive type of magic, she is using language that I perceive as a recipe of sorts, or what @Enjen called "A system akin to science." I do not sense anything of worship being involved in either of those descriptions. I hope that makes sense, @Arcane Gunslinger. Of course those are just my thoughts/feelings. It will be interesting to see where the devs go with this new Adventure Mode.
  22. There are instructions on this page: https://www.vintagestory.at/refund.html/
  23. With all due respect for something that you're obviously passionate about, @Arcane Gunslinger, I'm not a fan of having a heavily religious theme as part of the base game. This is where modding could provide a means of opting-in to the religious aspects of magic being full of "reverence", 'ritualism', "blood rites", "spirit pacts", and "rites, symbols, offerings." Alternatively, for those that feel as I do, the game should be marketed clearly so that an informed purchase can be made.
  24. I'm sorely tempted to post an "Are we there yet?" in the announcement thread but I'm not sure that my humor would be appreciated. eta: Oops, dang it! I meant to 1.21! sigh
