  1. Thanks so much for your in depth answer. Now I can play with peace of mind, lol
  2. Is there any way to keep your same world through multiple updates? I know the update 1.21.0 saw significant changes and evidently there was no getting around making a new world. If the TOFS had to start a new world then obviously there is no other choice. But aside from updates like that, like the next one 1.21 to 1.22 is it possible to keep the same world? I know mods would be a problem, with them not working until they are updated. Are there any mods that would survive an update like that and not crash a game? And if you adjusted the setting in a vanilla game, like the survival challenges or temporal stability, would those survive an update? I usually play single player, exploration, and usually have a lot of mods. But I'm willing to cut down on mods a lot, or even playing vanilla, if it means keeping my world playable for more than a year.
  3. Thanks for your reply. Yes, some nights are calmer, but I still wish there was a mod like I suggested.
  4. I usually play single player. One of the problems is the amount of monsters that spwan at night and in caves. To me at least, after you have killed 10 drifters 6 or so bowthings and 8 or 10 other things and it isn't even 10pm you should be done for the night with killing monsters. Same with caves. After 20 locust and bunches of other monsters it gets a bit repitious. Can someone make a mod that limits monster spawns after a certin number of kills?
  5. I just checked to see what I set the story distance, and it is 15%, lol.
  6. I did mess with story distance. I'm not planning on using this world long so it isn't very big, My desktop computer is getting fixed, the sound just dissapeared, so I'm using my little laptop i only use while traveling. I'm suprised it plays Vintage story so well. It bairly meets minimum requirements and plays on medium setting just fine.
  7. Thanks. The first time I saw it in a different world was after about 75 hours and a new translocator trip to quite a distant location. This world has only 4 hour so I thought it was a strange bug or something. I don't think I'll look at the spoiler, but I will bookmark the page incasse I want to come back to it.
  8. What is this big brown thing in the sky? I have several worlds and it isn't in all of them. playing 1.21.1 with about 10 mods
  9. Thanks for your answer. A few months ago I updated a world from 1.20.12 to 1.21.0 and it was a mess. It wouldn't even load. I really don't want to do that again. Live and learn.
  10. Is it safe to update my single player 1.21.0 world (100+ HOURS) TO 1.21.1 I have about 100 mods and I know they will need to all be updated too. or is it just not worth the bother.
  11. Can you have 2 vs installations owned by 2 different people on the same computer, using different mods? If that won't work, will if work if each person had a different profile on the same computer? I'm trying to keep the peace between kids. One wants monsters, the other doesn't.
  12. Why is silver not showing up on the prospecting pick?
  13. So, that works if there are 2 different versions? like if I wanted 1.19.9? I would put d:\games\vintagestory\1.19\vintagestory.exe --dataPath %appdata%\vintagestory_1_19 ? And when it asks if we want to uninstall the old version (1.18.15) we say "No" and then put the path into the download window that asks where we want the file downloaded?
  14. And flowers, jungles need more flowers!
  15. I want to try out the new unstable 1.19 updates, but if I do that I loose my current version for my world. Is it possible to download 1.19 and still keep my 1.18 version? If I downloaded it to a different folder or something. I'm not much of a computer person so please explain how to do it, if if is possible.
  16. I have a question about the laborer class and colored blocks. ( the pictures of the blocks says gatherer but the description for making dyes and blocks is in laborer.) I have always chosen commoner because I like to do a little of everything. But the server I am on uses this mod so I am a bit worried that I won't be able to make colored blocks any more, and chiseling is one of my favorite things to do. Will it be the case, that I won't be able to make colored blocks any more unless I change my class to laborer? I know there are things that can only be made by each class, except commoner, that are exclusive to the class.
  17. Yes, finally found one after finding a translocator and going to a new area. I found 2 right away. Thanks for answering.
  18. I have never seen a hollow tree, and have been playing on a server with your mod since last May. Are they only in certain types of trees. My base is in a jungle. Are they in the tropical trees too or only the northern ones?
  19. the treasure trader nearest me, when it says "delivery of new goods in 1 days" takes more than 1 day. Is that a bug or just things don't get delivered in time like irl.
  20. Do you have any plans for peanuts? Like in the trail mil instead of acorns because the server might not have that mod. Or Peanut butter for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?
  21. Or maybe add peanuts?
  22. Can I make tofu?
  23. I think the "handful of soy beans" may be the problem. What exactly is that, just soybeans right out of the ground? fermented? or some other way of processing them. Actually, now that I'm looking at soy beans ( it just now occurred to me there may be another form and maybe I should look it up) There is pickles, slurry, soaked, roasted , powdered, cultured, shelled, wet and blended (amazing mod by the way) Which one should I use for a "handful of soy beans"
  24. I can't get' the trail mix to work. Using ExF 1.4.2 and 1.15.6 I never tried it in 1.15.5 because I just got all the ingredients. I tried it just like it says in the handbook and nothing. It would be good if there was picture of the crafting grid for it. Can you give me any hints as to what I'm doing wrong please?
