It's not very rare in reality. I've become really good at finding it. I have stacks and stacks of it if I try. I think meteoric iron is a remnant from before steel was in the game but I need an old timer to confirm. Black bronze is an odd one. I mainly use it for an early pick axe because I pan tons of bony soil and usually get 2 gold and silver nuggets. I did actually have one playthorugh where i had tons of gold ans silver so I made a black bronze anvil. It felt weird but that's what I had.

Personally I use it for all of my tools because it is faster to process than iron. I save my iron to process into steel, but I also don't make tons of steel. If you love making iron blooms and steel then it probably has no use for you. I do think they should update the recipe for steel and make it so you can turn meteoric iron into steel.

I like that idea. It costs money so it wouldn't be a free pass. It could generate the treasure hunter trader the same way as the archives. I also wish the traders made more sense to the game in general. I like the multiple trader outposts you find from time to time. It seems more immersive than a trader sitting on top of a mountain or in the middle of a forest by themselves. I'm sure changing the traders is in the plan somewhere.

@doomstrike53 I bet if you use the names of the worldconfig commands I listed and added them to the serverconfig file in the same format they would probably work. Try it out and see. You just need to play with it in a test world to find out what the proper [value] to use is. "WorldConfiguration": { "gameMode": "survival", "playerlives": "-1", "startingClimate": "temperate", "spawnRadius": "50", "graceTimer": "0",

Can i install a mod and use it with a save i already have?
Zane Mordien replied to Luke05's topic in Questions
Save a backup and just try out. If it worked great if not then you have the answer and you can just use the backup save. In general most mods can be added anytime with some exceptions. This may be one of those. -
Native copper and a v high reading and nothing in 11 bore holes? Something is wrong. Are you using the node search mode of the prospecting pick? If you did node searches as you bore down you have to find something at very high. Flat vs mountain makes no difference except the ore vein will match the upheaval of the terrain above the vein. Meaning it will go up and down the same as the surface.

Sorry to side step the question, but how is you computer not good enough to start a world? I've run this game on some pretty low end laptops to start with. Maybe long term it would get unplayable but just for the initial set up it doesn't take much. Then you just copy the save file to the server. The respawn radius you can change in game with commands. I've never tried to change the equater distance and it's not listed in the wiki but it might be a command. /worldconfig is the command to change these settings. Go into creative mode and use the in game help to see what commands are available.

True words. I recently put a pit kiln 3 blocks from my pulverizer but then i got nervous and built a dirt wall between them. That was way to much to risk over a stupid fire.

I've had that happen occasionally for my own server in my house. One of us can connect but the other gets that error.

I understand. I did it with my 9 yr old son and i was ready to just be done with it. It was a disappointment after all the fun of the RA. We had a blast doing that the first time a year ago. He went to school and wrote stories about how fun it was beating the Edilon with daddy. There were no happy stories about this fight. I wish the elevator could be unlocked after you reach it on each floor. At least that way you could avoid redoing the parkour as you try again where you failed. Maybe some loot would be nice as well. Doesn't have to be great but something to make me feel like I got a trophy for getting to the top of the tower.

I just haven't gotten the hang of finding it yet and maybe some bad RNG luck. I say that but in my current map I found both Cr and sulfur by accident while looking for tin in the same shaft plus the tin. In all my playthorughs I've never had an issue finding sulfur. That being said it may just be that I've never had a bad luck RNG map for it yet. I feel like I've done this so long but it's probably only been 10-12 worlds. That's small potatoes compared with a lot of players.

That's how it works out for me. Since it is in the sedimentary layers you don't have to go that deep when looking for it. So even if it takes you multiple bore holes to find it, you are only going down 20-30 blocks vs trying to find deep ores. Even the deep ores I often find on poor readings if they are close to base. Traveling 2000 blocks for a high reading wastes more time in the end to me.

I have a $300 used Dell server blade with 128gb of ram that I use and I agree it works better than my gaming laptop. It would probably work even better if I was smarter on how to set things up optimally. Lag is almost non existent unless I run a prune command ... haha that lags it out.

Monsters and temporal rifts not spawning in for me
Zane Mordien replied to coochiehunter's topic in Questions
I've seen that as well. It's high activity but no rifts open near me. I assume its a bug that will get fixed. -
Definitely try lowering the upheaval if you don't want to use modded terrain generation. I got to 0% upheaval and there are still plenty of mountains and hills. If i remember right they are planning on revisiting terrain generation.

If that is the intent. We will see during the next rebalance when they stop the next mob farms strat from working. Game AI can always be exploited and someone will figure it out. If it is as you say @Thorfinn, then it's working as intended or maybe this isn't what they expected and they may tune it again. Time will tell. I still think reducing the drop rate would have kept the game fun during storms... for me.

Chromium is my bane. Sulfur is a lot easier to find than you would expect or at least that is my experience. I usually find it pretty easy at a poor reading. Chromium eludes me.

Just create a regular world and as soon as you load in the world type in /gm 2

Monsters and temporal rifts not spawning in for me
Zane Mordien replied to coochiehunter's topic in Questions
You might just be lucky and the temporal weather is calm. -
Yes.. yes indeed experience. My pit kilns have never burned up my baskets before either.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but these are my thoughts. Some of these to me are items people think they need but they are really optional to the game or just long term goals. Leather - This is the most basic one you list. I've gotten used to just finding it so I may be the wrong person to comment. Sulfur - Sulfur is more common than you realize, unless you spawn no where near sedimentary rock I guess. I feel like this one falls into people get stuck trying to find the mythical high reading instead of just mining the decent or poor readings. That one prospecting video leads people down a primrose path of time wasting looking for higher readings instead of using what they find. Salt - I don't even bother with finding salt. You don't really need it except to check a box that you made cheese or pickled stuff. It's nice to have but I just buy enough to salt some meat from the merchants and call it a day. Potash - I just buy this from the merchant. Much better way to spend my time. Flour - Not sure why this one is an issue. You can use the grains as food until you progress to make the quern. I guess if you want to make pies immediately this is an issue. Quern - Not sure why the change really. I guess I didn't care as I said before I just cook the grains. Bread and pies aren't a big deal to me. Beehive Kiln - Yeah this is just a something if you want to decorate your house with different colour clay stuff. Completely unnecessary IMO so it doesn't offend me.

Wow that was a long run for iron. That is my usual run to find Borax or limestone.

100%, There needs to be something better than a chat notification. The damn thing fades away before I even notice it personally. I use a HUD mod just so I know when a storm is approaching. Heck it could be a simple as your stability gear starts to turn red and when it hits dark red the storm starts.
