Interesting. I thought the Malefactor were the ne'er do wells that decided to play nice in society due to the apocalyptically bad circumstances everyone was in. My understanding is they were sent to the surface and use their skulduggery to return with goods to help underground society, like the hunters would return with food.

I would add that there is probably some bleaching involved due to the discoloration leading to exile caveat to having the mask. I'm willing to bet that the discoloration mentioned would be of a red variety.

You gotta go all redneck here and build a double wide... gate that is. Then aminals will freely wander through gates. @Heather Holwerda It's better to build barns and pens from wood to prevent aminal climbing behavior. If you like the stone wall, line the inside enclosure with a fence to prevent aminal climbing.

Sitting does indeed burn calories slower. I recently used this a couple weeks ago. Congrats! You stand corrected. Or maybe you sit corrected if you're actually sitting.

This sounds like you're talking about smelting copper and bronze which typically requires temps off 1,100 C to melt the nuggets. Smelting should be done in a firepit, not a forge.

Crops/Agriculture. I take that to mean foraging wild veggie and grain crops that are not berry/fruit based.

I concur that is much too small for a peat deposit. Too deep for a meteor as well. Oddly circular. My gut says it's a player dug hole. Uhhh... Beware of Herobrine?

finding medium fert soil is easy enough. My first long term world was the worst I've ever seen. Low fert soil for about a 1,000 block radius of spawn and a dramatically low amount of forageables. The food availability was so low that I walked every where to keep from starving. By the time I found medium fert soil close to the evening of the first day, I had not come close to starving. If I had sprinted everywhere food would have been a much worse problem. There should not be a problem finding medium fert soil within the first day or two of spawning a new world. Terra preta no longer spawns naturally needing high fert soil or twice as much of other ingredients. Holding out for high fert soil to start a garden (let alone fields for farming) is NOT on the early game bingo card. High fert soil and terra preta are mid to late game goals, unless you have an absurd spawn. I had one in which there were a dozen high fert soil deposits within a few hundred block radius of spawn, but that is one world out of a dozen or more that I've played.

I answered your question specifically. No need to be pendantically obsessive about the content in the thread; especially when you asked a question I answered.

I would love to see a space age mod or someting

Kewl!!!! In days not so long past I would troll streamers new to VS that they could stand in a rift to be *ahem * teleported to the rust dimension where nuggets of metal were littered all over the place, but gather quickly as the locals congregate quickly and are none to happy with your sudden appearance in their living room. You just told me that my idea is actually possible! Hmmmmm..... -

Something I think everyone has missed is whether the game engine is capable of creating a second world. TOBG Glacticraft mod creates more dimensions, which that game engine itself supports. VS has only one dimension. So the game itself limits the possibility of a space mod to build height for the world that is created. No alternate dimensions possible despite the lore indicating a rust "dimension". -
It's not necessarily an early game source of food, but an early game task to secure a reliable food source and stop the foraging nightmare.

Mortar production 50% nerf was unnecessary and awful

It should. -

I recently toyed with that a bit and found a good way to use firepits and minimize fuel consumption using only two firepits. Use one fire pit to bring 8 flint to temp using high temp burning coal to expedite the heating process. Once close to top temp transfer flint to firepit #2 which is used to maintain temp using peat (or whatever disposable fuel desired). Obviously increasing the number of firepits to heat flint will speed up mass production of calcinated flint. -
In my previous playthroughs the first location was southish or southeastish from spawn. In my current playthrough it was almost directly north of spawn, sooo... Maybe some changes have happened since 1.20?

You'll love it once you launch a spear and watch it corkscrew through the air into the distance.

You should have seen the two prototypes I developed in creative. Those were true monstrosities; not only in copper consuption but they were crimes against the eyes. What I posted is nice and elegant.

It's a shiver of shivers. duh!

I'll probably add fishing in the future. But currently it's forage for berries/mushrooms while I sporadically add grains/veggies and the occassional protein from a hunt.

Fortunately an area of ultra-high copper density is able to supply those copper needs. Everytime I've found such an area I will find three or four different copper deposits practically overwriting each other.

And then all the piping to funnel it to a single chest. Took me a few weeks to figure out how to weave the power and chutes. Pics can be found here:

That might be enough It depends on how many chutes, hoppers, lanterns and chests you create. I went through about 5 times that much to make an automated quad-quern grinder.

Should VS embrace the Immersive Sim in its Story?
Maelstrom replied to Perdido Street's topic in Discussion
That's my point. Unless someone has inside the industry perspective we don't know the specifics of that metric.- 16 replies

Yep. Been waiting for them wolf pups one can traffick to be tamable ever since 1.14 when I started playing. I just feel so dirty buying that pup knowing I'm just going to turn around and sell it to the treasure hunter.
