  1. Anyone else getting their winters wrong? Shouldn't winter be starting on Dec 1? The other seasons appear to work just fine, btw. Also, thanks for this mod - I am greatly enjoying it! EDIT: It just switched to winter. On Dec. 6. Probably something the game does, not this mod.
  2. Hey Brynn, I was looking to make meteor iron bits more visible and now I have read your post and had to learn how to do just that. Please find attached a little mod that makes terra preta an absolute eyesore - but easier to find. Strawberry Preta.zip
  3. Hey Moses, glad I could help! As far as the handbook says you coul melt them into titanium ingots. But I never tried so I have no idea if that actually works. And as far as I know, there isn't anything that uses titanium ingots. So, sadly, the nuggets are pretty much worthless.
  4. Hi! Just to make sure - you are crushing the chunks of ilmenite, right? Not nuggets?
  5. Hi! Sorry to hear you don't like the new version(s) of the game. But yes, you can get previous versions from the download area (click on "Show all available downloads and mirrors of Vintage Story"). Also most mods have previous versions available still. Only drawback is that you'd have to start a fresh world as the saves are probably not backwards compatible. You can uninstall the game and then re-install a previous version you still liked. Hope this helped! Have fun playing "vintage" VintageStory!
  6. Oh, and I forgot: You can turn off anomalies and surface drifters completely by using the following command: /worldconfig temporalRifts [off|invisible|visible] Defines temporal rift behavior (default: visible) Off: No rifts spawn, which also means there will be no surface drifters. Invisible: Rifts are not visible to the player, make no sound and do not affect players in any way, but do spawn drifters. Visible: Rifts are visible to the player, make sound, drain stability on nearby players and spawn drifters. In your case, I'd go with "off". Underground drifters and other hazards will still exist. And if you want them back, simply use the same command with "visible". (From the VintageStory Wiki, which I can highly recommend: World Configuration - Vintage Story Wiki)
  7. Hi! If it is drifters that annoy you and you are okay with using mods, have a look at "Nightwatcher". Acts as a scarecrow for drifters. Find it here: Vintage Story Mod DB
  8. There is an icebox and also an icepick to collect blocks of ice in the mod ZEEkea. No portable cold storage, though.
  9. Personally, I love the clouds. I never noticed them as actually standing out for being too blocky or anything else. And I do LOVE looking at the clouds at sunrise or sunset. I've seen mods for those who prefer a round sun and moon, so maybe making the clouds accessible to modding or easier to mod could be an option. So those who want them changed can and those who like them can leave them as they are. If that is feasible I don't know.
  10. I found that my fruit trees (on 1.16.4-rc.1) that are currently fruiting are bearing their fruit every time I load into a world. Only those that say "Fruiting. Fresh fruit for xx days." though.
  11. Hey people, anyone else have this happen with their fruit trees? The same thing happened when it was supposed to flower. Sleeping "fixed" it. The cherry tree is the only one, though. Pear and two apple trees work properly.
  12. In my case, it appears to have been ZEEkea. Which used to throw some errors in the logs, but the weather acting up is new since 1.16.3. So it seems that happened between 1.16.1 and 1.16.3.
  13. Okay. The culprit was most likely a mod. I am a dumb and should have tested for that in the first place. After removing said mod not only does VS load a LOT faster, the issue with the wonky weather is fixed, too.
  14. Has anyone else noticed weather oddities such as clouds (and precipitation, especially snow) vanishing after sleeping? After loading into the world, there are clouds but after sleeping through the night, the clouds are gone and the skies are cloudless and blue forever. Temeratures are a bit erratic, too. I have noticed that there was mention of fixed daily temperature variation in the release notes of 1.16.2-rc.1 - is it possible the fix... well, didn't? -Chrysander
  15. Hello, just noticed that jugs on shelves don't say what's in them. They're just "jugs". -Chrysander
  16. I noticed installed windmill wings have gone invisible. They're still there and the windmill is working properly, but they're just invisible.
  17. Hello, has anyone else noticed that your windmill wing have turned invisible, but are still working? This is new in the release candidate. I have tested without mods to be sure. Best regards, C.
  18. Not sure if it is by design or an undocumented feature, but some work items like chain, plate and scales need to be melted down into ingots in the bloomery. Sadly, spear heads don't melt down in a bloomery either. Probably because they don't naturally stack. But yeah. Some metal items are not recoverable.
  19. Works wonderfully. Thanks for making my experience in-game richer! Minor niggle, though: Shouldn't it be "spyglass half" and not "spyglass halve"?
  20. Hi Doctorego7, yes, it is kinda obvious. Keep it in an "open" container until it is cured. Your inventory works fine. Crates and baskets won't, as they count as "closed". I heard technically, a barrel should work but there was a bug with that so it didn't work. Maybe that was fixed. See if it works. And please be patient. Without the Better Archery mod, drying those things takes a while! EDIT: If you mouse over the bowstaff, it should tell you the drying progress in%.
  21. Hi Sokol777, I think you keep your chickens well fed to get broody hens eventually. Note that the rooster needs food, too in order to get "fertilized eggs". Hope that helps!
  22. Hi, I'm currently losing my mind slowly here. As far as I understand (and close to how it is in the real world), after giving birth, the ewe will lactate for up to 20 days. It will say how long in the Info Box ("Lactating for 19 days."). I am aware that ewe's won't be milkable every day. HOWEVER. I was under the impression that the lactation period has to end before the ewe can get pregnant again. In my games they give milk for 2-3 days and then suddenly switch to "Will be able to mate in less than 3 days" and cease lactating and start consuming food until they have eaten 10 portions in order to get pregnant. I have already tried taking away their feed so they can't eat 10 portions of food, but of course that doesn't help because they stop lactating as soon as that message appears. I have not tried to remove the ram more than 10 squares away, though, yet. Because it is a hassle. I am not using any mods changing animal behaviour whatsoever. Anyone please care to give me the nitty-gritty on how this works? Thank you loads! EDIT: Someone else noticed too and has opened an issue on the GitHub issue tracker.
  23. Hi, looks like it was the 1.15.1 update. I reinstalled and now everything in the Guide is as it should be.
  24. Hi again, just as the topic says. I encountered another oddity during my dairy adventures: Milk in a bucket will never go off. Processed milk, however, i.e. cottage cheese, will. I haven't checked curdled milk yet.
  25. Hi, I just took first one full bucket and then half a bucket (10L and then 5L) of cottage cheese out of a barrel and then emptied that bucket using a bowl. When the bucket was empty, it wouldn't stack with other empty buckets almost as if it was a different kind of empty. I got it to stack again by first filling it with water and then pouring the water out. After that, it stacked fine with other empty buckets. Unusual and almost as if it needed to be rinsed before considered truly empty. Anyone care to try and see if the same happens for them?
