  1. Looking great! Welcome to the forums, @Diamondking818
  2. Welcome to the forums, @Asreal! Personally, I don't really care about the heat thing anyway. Warm weather in-game and IRL is just not interesting to me. Give me boreal forest any day of the week. @AsrealI'm guessing you must be a decided minority or a mod like that would already exist. But I would not be surprised that it finds it into the base game by release date anyway. BTW, I used to worry about the cold, too, but it turns out it's not a big deal. Make winter clothes if you absolutely swimming in fat, but it's not all that important. Spelunking is enough to warm you up anywhere but arctic regions, and sometimes even then. There's plenty to burn anywhere other than arctic -- flowers, bushes, trees, grass, etc. And in the arctic, there is plenty of aged wood in the caves. Food isn't an issue, either. So long as you are doing the nomad thing in unexplored territory (and why would you do the nomad thing in explored territory?) there's plenty of food.
  3. Oh, hey, when you find obsidian on the surface, there's obsidian underneath, and, often, lava at some depth. But you can't move the stuff. Yet, anyway. It's not much more than an obstacle at the moment.
  4. Why? Don't all stones result in the same exact path block? Stuff I don't want gets Ctrl-Q while I'm backing up. It's gone in 10 minutes, and, since I usually trash it when I pick it up, I'm probably never going past it again, let alone before it goes bye-bye. Lava is generally fairly deep. Basalt, usually, maybe always?
  5. Please either submit an issue via the issue tracker (see the description from this sub-forum for details) or ask on the Questions or Vintarian Support sub-forums. As the description says, this sub-forum is no longer being monitored by the devs.
  6. Welcome to the forums, @Dimenji! I'm guessing it will be handled the same way it was with Chapter 1 -- worlds created prior to 1.20 will require you to type in a server command to enable the new content. Personally, I would start a new world now to learn the ropes, then create another game in 1.20 so the content generates seamlessly.
  7. Well, permadeath is a choice... "Fear is the mind-killer..." You don't really have to be all that good at combat. You have to be good at understanding their AI. Once you grok that, you no longer fear them. Just prepare a large enough flat area so you can run far enough that the ones you don't need to fight wander away, and you only have to deal with the double-headeds. Probably be a good idea to get good at it before 1.20 drops and missiles aren't just puny rocks. Grinding setups are doomed to fail, eventually, and when they do, you have no escape. You can't count on harvesting -- the higher ones outreach your knife. The best you can probably do is one of the guides that kills everything but the double-headed with fall damage, lock yourself in a 1x1x2 and pray they can't materialize with you, and kill the 2-H after the storm is over. To the best of my knowledge, this still works.
  8. I don't think that's your problem. That's been fixed for ages. Unless maybe you are trying to run a 4 YO version. Why not head over the the "Questions" forum and leave as much detail as you can. This sub-forum is not active.
  9. Simple enough. Don't set it to permadeath, but limit yourself to 1 death, then change the world's name to remind you that you have to switch to /gm 3 or whatever it is when you load that world. Maybe prepend a "Spectator" to the world name or something? We trust you. [EDIT] Oh, and welcome to the forums, @Brick!
  10. So far there don't seem to be a lot of problems I've encountered in 1.20. And they must have listened to the complaints because MFS is all over the place. But I also do not intend to carry my world forward, either, so don't much care if it's a little buggy. Wolves might be a bit more common, but seem less aggressive. Not that they won't aggro, but it takes them a second longer. So far, I've only been bitten once in probably about 40 hours of game play, and that's when I only saw one of them, so was a little reckless... But, yeah, definitely parallel installation. [EDIT] Lurker, huh, @Simplified? Welcome to the forums. You will likely get another welcome when you make your first post.
  11. Dunno. 5-6 shots I might be a little tipsy at most. But legally drunk. 22? Never tried it. Closest was a 750 of Yukon Jack that I chased each swig with apple schnapps. (It seemed like a good idea at the time, OK?) It took most of the evening and I paid for it the next day and never repeated it. But definitely drunk.
  12. Welcome to the forums, @unflinchingalva Dunno. First step is always to rule out some install or hardware issue by disabling all mods. Have you done that yet? Your unmodded game starts right up? If so, then decide which are the core mods to the game experience you seek. If I were to take a guess, Expanded Foods, Primitive Survival, maybe Meteoric Expansion? Those should all be compatible. Make sure. Then start adding in the next most essential mods, a few at a time. I can't even begin to guess. Most I've never used, some I've never even heard of. Keep going until you get your error. Another approach is that since it is a sound issue, search your mod folder for all mods with .ogg files and disable those. Make sure the set of mods that did not mess with sound works. Then add them back in to see which is causing problems.
  13. Oh, and I remembered that @egocarib (?) has a great mod, something like AutoMap Markers that does that more immersively, and even fewer clicks. Give that a whirl. For much of what you are talking about, you can configure the mod to set a marker just by interacting with the entity. Left-click on clay, there's a clay marker. Peat, peat marker. etc. Break a surface copper nugget, it puts down that orange pick. Dig it out and it places a ladder over the pick so you don't technically have to delete the marker -- at a glance you can see it been mined out. Crops, berries, mushrooms, resin, olivine, quartz, most of the stuff you might want marked. If I'm thinking the right mod, you can also set a hotkey to delete the nearest waypoint. [EDIT] @ApacheTech also had something similar, Campaign Cartographer maybe? He wanted to wait on some change in the method of setting waypoints that is evidently in the works. I think it's not currently being maintained, but it might still run in the current version. I don't remember exactly how it worked, but it was popular with people I hang with. [EDIT] I can't think of anything that does search of markers, but I think the obsolete VSHUD let you filter them. Or maybe that was in the works. It was abandoned several versions ago, alas.

    HELP

Ditto to the two above. Welcome, @andrea06pes! Tailored gambeson, perhaps? That is a Tailor-only recipe, not allowed to the citizen (commoner, I'm guessing?) class, unless you have enabled class-only recipes.
  15. As I look at the graphics for rammed earth, I wonder if that isn't in the works. They look like a weathering series.
  16. "Wizard I said, and Wizard I... Wait, Pre 9? November, 2024? This is still 1.20? Um, yes, Clockmaker, I mean. A Clockmaker is never late, etc."
  17. "A wizard is never late."
  18. Thanks! [EDIT] Thinking back, there's a really cool woodsman's shack if you can find it. I'm not running across as many specials as I was remembering. Might be some of them not working as well as others. Or maybe it's just going to take more than a day of exploration. pumkineventv0.1.0.zip [EDIT2] Uploading here apparently does not work. Try this instead. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/cqjxab3c6osnvyppb58bg/pumkineventv0.1.0.zip?rlkey=h6s5114upm176rae69a9jvpym&st=7byuh4ck&dl=0
  19. Pre 9 is out...
  20. Oh, that's useful information when others have problems. Who was the sender of the email with the key? You're welcome. Good gaming!
  21. Think I know what you are talking about. Mostly in water?
  22. I'm able to log in. You have to set up an account on Client area (banner at the top of the page). It's been several years, so I don't remember the exact details, whether you have to redeem the key you were emailed, or if that is only for gift copies. Have you set up an account there yet? It is different than your forum login, though if you wanted to, you could probably use the same password. Welcome to the forums, @LiZuS! Hope you can start playing sometime soon!
  23. Cool. @NiclAss has something from a couple years back called Pumpkin Event that would be a great starting point, if he'll let you see it. Meant to find it this season, but kind of got distracted. He removed it from ModDB, and I asked him why at the time, but I don't remember the reason. Maybe it was just didn't want to maintain it? Or maybe didn't want it distributed anymore? [EDIT] Just dug it up. It still works. Throws a warning about a weapon it had that was OP, and it took me about 4 game hours to find the first of the special jack-o-lanterns, but that sounds about what I remember. Did not remember that it spawns as many pumpkins as it does. But then again, that was back when I needed all the food I could find.
  24. While I rarely play with map, for those that do, that would be a very useful feature, indeed. When I do play with map, I "cheat" that function in using a Streamdeck.
  25. Sounds like @ApacheTechs Accessibility Tweaks is just the thing. [EDIT] Another possibility is using a program like Normalizer to um, normalize all the in-game sounds, since the levels are all over the place. By setting different normalization levels, you can also set environmental sounds a little softer than effects, which are softer than creature noises, for example.
