  1. Love the rugged hand made look! You should be really proud, this is great
  2. Thanks! I hate them too, now I have one watching me sleep... not sure if manifesting nightmare creatures is the best thing to do with my spare time...
  3. Thank you! That is a great idea, I could pile on the ragged layers of... cloth? Flesh? (Idk lol) and make it look like seaweed. Maybe sculpt barnacles on it. You have given me so many ideas, I cant wait to get the sculpting tools out again
  4. This is my hand sculpted Surface Shiver. It's made out of miliput and greenstuff, I tried to capture the gaunt and sinewy nature of the beast. You can really see the shoulder blades, spine and ribcage which I'm quite proud of. I went for a pale, but still slightly rusted colouration of a surface shiver. I plan on making more, maybe trying the more rusted and vicious variations of the shivers. I want to try the four way head split too. Here is a more styalised photo that captures the horror of the monster. And finally how it looked before paint. A little goofy.
  5. Looks great! So cozy, love the sofa and table infront of the fire place. I'm building a tavern and need to bite the bullet and start chiselling some furniture. What block did you use for the grey surface of the seat?
  6. Looks great, giving me mordor orc vibes for some reason. Maybe it looks like a watch tower that could be on the black gate?
  7. Absolutely stunning, love the raised stone foundation jutting out into the water. The diffrent roof slants and towers all look great, all individually unique but still all come together to make one consise whole.
  8. Looks great! Thanks for sharing your findings, I never thought to use glass or ice in that way. I'm going to have a play around with this now.
  9. Looks super cozy!
  10. Bringing me back to 2010 watching minecraft adventure map let's plays on YouTube. Can't wait to try it out! (I never knew how to install them as a kid so I would bug my older brother every weekend to download a new one for me, but i think i can manage now )
  11. I was just thinking about building a fancy green house in my survival world this morning. But um... yeah think ill skip that now that I've seen this 8th wonder of the vintage story world. Nothing could compare to this
  12. I think that cross is from the better ruins mod, if you dig under it there will be a chest in the dirt. If you haven't got the better ruins mod yet I would definitely recommend it, makes exploring so fun!
  13. At this point I realized that I was basically just building Riverwood from Skyrim. There wasn't really anyway to avoid that since I was building in a wood... next to a river... So I lent into it and recreated Alvor's Blacksmith. But to keep things interesting I turned this building into my tannery and made a stone workshop across the path that became my actual blacksmith... Because reasons... Thinking of drawing a map/taking a screen shot of the in game map and annotating it so I can show the layout of the town and where the rivers flow. I'll probably do this later tho, when more buildings have been built and the layout is finalised.
  14. I've see that one once before too, was my first ruin in my first world. I didn't have any tools to excavate so never knew what lay below. Glad to find out I didn't miss anything
  15. Following on from my last post I didn't want these first two buildings to end up being the center of my town. I wanted them to end up on the outskirts as I built larger buildings around a central hub. So I needed to decide where that hub would be. I picked out a location up river and decided to start planing out where the walls would go. I built this gate house half way between the future town square location and my starting house/hut. The interior is currently un-decorated, you can enter in the small alcove seen in the first photo. A ladder leads up into the wattle and daub living quarter. And the bridge takes you over to the tower which has a similar ladder up to the top. There isn't a great view as the area is so heavily wooded you can only see the tops of the trees. This building doesn't really server a purpose in my survival world but I think it looks great and I love traveling down the path through my woods and under the bridge.
  16. Got another one for you, this one is hauntingly beautiful. Fitting for this post Halloween/Pre-winter season we find ourselves in. Not sure if this is spoilers or not so going to hide it just in case. Its just the entrance to the first story dungeon.
  17. I've recently started a new world and plan on making a whole town, I'm going to record the progress on this thread. I'm using the river gen mod and have settled in a wooded valley that is crisscrossed with streams. I started with a small shack while I got my bearings, then I followed up by building a wattle and daub cottage that will eventually become a work house when my main house is built. Here you can see the progress from Spring to Autumn in my first year. But there where some other projects coming along near by... (Will post more soon, just gotta take some nice screen shots :P)
  18. A cold but cozy Autumn morning in a misty forest
  19. You could add some paths, decorated with fences or store walls. Patches of trees or berry bushes. Could even try builing a pod or small river. I always just go and look at the natural beauty of the world and try and take a pinch of it and sprinkle it over my base.
  20. This is beautiful, the water looks great reflecting the moon light. I always struggle painting water so impressed to see it done well!
  21. This remains me of the spiral stairs in the abandoned keep dungeons in skyrim, if you are familiar at all. Can hear the rattle of skeleton bones tumbling down the stairs even now. Greatwork, would love to see the rest of the structure too! Must be a grand building.
  22. Love this, reminds me of retro minecraft when people would use the game and wool blocks as a canvas for pixel art.
  23. It's not time wasted if it was time enjoyed! Terraria was great back in the day, keep meaning to come back to it but feel it's one of those games you need to comit a lot of time too. And currently for me that time comitment is to vintage story
  24. Love it! Personally not familiar with the game but the sword reminds me of the crimson from terraria if you are familiar
  25. I'm going to be building a tavern in my survival world and plan to do something similar to the below. Scrapping the full log blocks in the corners and instead going crazy with the support beams. (I've spent 10 years in mincraft using log blocks and bulk support beams and it's time to break the mold! We have these amazing tools in vintage story so let's use them!) Think you would need to find that balance with the detail, not to little so it looks plain but not so much that you cant tell what's going.
