THAT was the response I was waiting for.

Oh it was horrifying! I'm not one to be jump scared (ask my kids, they succeeded just ONCE in 15 years of trying) and that simultaneous combo of buzzsaw buzzing in my ears plus my poor seraph complaining about attempted amputations caused me to direct my seraph to first, ponder potential cave paintings on the cave ceiling while 2. switching to rope ladders to fend off the attempted amputations by the mobile (and very offensive) lumbermill.
-
Not so quick. I've had sneaky little buzzsaws put the ultimate buzzkill to my explorations. Spawn in close to me and notify me of the presence WHILE they make their first attack. Granted BOTH of these scenarios are rare as each one has happened to me precisely once (each) in my playthroughs since I started with the 1.14.10 release.

I gotta... Chicken... pit?

Don't be too sure about that. In my current world I peaked down a cave shaft and about 20 blocks below the surface saw a nice, friendly, mobile buzzsaw just waiting to slice and dice my poor nekkid seraph. Pulled up what little rope ladder I had and decided to explore that cave another time. Since the entrance was about 50 blocks from my dirt hovel, it would be a few visits before it despawned.

Could we add favorites list to the mod page?
Maelstrom replied to Nerdlin Geeksly's topic in Suggestions
You can follow them and then visiting the mod page next time will show only your followed mods. -
OH! Be very careful. You found yourself one of those rare (thought be extinct) Arctic Drop Bears. Infinitely more deadly than the Australian breed of drop bears.

Unless they don't have enough non-glass building material? Just sayin'

I believe you are correct.

I've never built a greenhouse, but I've seen so many greenhouse troubleshooting requests that it is one of the first things I check.

Shift + H while targeting a block will bring up the handbook entry on the block, such as lily pads, seaweed, etc. -
Glass slabs for the top need to be on the top half of the block. You have them on the bottom half of the block.

Torches are infinite if within an inventory (chest or your inventory/hotbar). Breaking a torch placed in the world will reset it's extinguishing timer, so technically torches placed in the world are potentially infinite as well.

In my second world (the first ended during the first night when I learned the prime directive of 2 sticks, 2 flint and 2 grass is the FIRST objective) I was building a pathway across a sandy plain. Placed pathway block number next and the world disappeared. I thought to myself "self, WHAT?! just happened?" and before that though was half done I noticed my health was at half and the friendly neighborhood den of drifters (3 or 4 of them) was helping with beating the remaining 1/2 of my health out of me. It only took them 3 or 4 seconds to convince me to start a third world.

Separate one out in a second pen for backup?

So I guess they wanted to BE the campfire? They like crawling in my pit kiln and then they can't get out.
-
I've seen streamers and utoobers have difficulty killing a pen full of mixed generation chickens. For the future I suggest separating the offspring in a separate pen from the parents so that generational lines aren't as difficult to cull.

Or let the corpse despawn.

I implemented the Compostor mod but nerfed it from 500x speed down to a more reasonable 5. I may even further nerf it down to 2 or 3.

All them animals running into the water are trying to solve that problem. Hopefully they'll evolve into water based mammals sooner than later.

1 dough = 1 rot and spoils rather quickly. It's the most reliable way of creating compost in mass quantities that I have found. And I have been experimenting since 1.15 with various methods. Berries and meat rot faster, but produce lower quantities, variable amounts of rot and take longer to harvest. Vegetables produce larger quantities, take longer to spoil and also are more variable. Grain harvests produce an obscene amount of grain compared to other compostables.

Lovely, interesting or just plain bizarre landscapes

Love the smoke that is apparently coming from the trader's wagon. -
Wait. I re-read your comment and realized the last part is wrong. Left overs need to go back to hot bar and placed back into crates. I must have been tired or *ahem* something when I read your comment the first time. What I was trying to confirm is that you can have your crafting grid open, any number of chests (or firepits, cookpots, etc) open and then grab things from the crates to craft. Putting stuff back into crates? Nothing special there. My apologies for the confusion. I don't know what kind of shrooms my seraph smoked while reading your comment.

You don't make terra preta. It takes obscene amounts of compost to convert high fert soil into terra preta, for which flax dough is a wonderful vehicle. Sometime mix up your play and go for a long term goal, make a self-sustaining homestead that will last through multiple winters.
