Jacek Babiak Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 Why does heating lime in a fire take so long and the heating temperature barely increases?

A change in how heating works. Now you are heating whole stack at the same time, so the temperature don't reset after making 1 unit. Make smaller stacks. 2

It took another 25 charcoal to cycle the stack of 64 to give me 32 Quicklime. If it heats the whole stack to 825 degrees, it would seem like it should complete the whole stack in one cycle. or quicken the cycle. 86 charcoal for 32 Quick lime seems like a lot. I'll work with it, I think they're on the right track here, but it could use a little tweaking. 1
Maelstrom Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 (edited) For flint it's best to heat up 8 flint in a firepit then cook what you need in a bloomery. I'll have to see if Tyron thought to cook lime in a bloomery... Edited April 30 by Maelstrom 1
dakko Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 I do wish something could be done about the hot springs when playing with patchy climate. I reported this last July - with geologic activity set to "none" there are six hot springs close to spawn.
Cornvus Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 I can't decide if I'm in tears of sadness at the loss of 4dQRN, or tears of joy that she ever existed at all. RIP to the extra dimensional queen. You brought me great joy, and you will be missed. Stay grinding. 3

Ev3rardd Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 Thanks for fixing that quern bug. Now we have our 4D grinding wheels, as I'm sure was intended from the beginning 1 1

XD Stacks Cool Slower mod also makes them heat just a bit quicker

Jacek Babiak Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Is it possible to make a brazier (the whole piece of junk) into a functional element? As a bonfire that will illuminate the surrounding area.

Hafthohlladung Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Just wondering why we're still being allowed to make Thatch roofing blocks from Hay in 1.22? Tule was introduced back in 1.19 along with the comment that in a future version it may be the only source of Thatch. Not sure why the switch hasn't been made yet, as on most maps with a small amount of exploring Tule is not particulary hard to find. 1
