Stored Foods randomly spoiling way before the estimated dates
Dilan Rona replied to Locklear's topic in Discussion
I agree with Thorfinn. Check if the room you are storing your food in is registered as a cellar. I only had one case of a crock with spoiled food, when the rest were good for over 200 days. and that was because I used some berries that i didnt realise was spoiled when I selected them to cook meals. -
you can use packed dirt. it does involve you digging out existing dirt, but 6 dirt equates to 6 packed dirt. and is a good option for making dirt paths.
-
Primitive survival does that exact mechanic. Still have to make use of it tbh

tbh, i had a few cases of wolves running around the pit trap when on level ground. a 1 block high ledge solves that partly. and I certainly dont want animals dropping to their deaths either. means less meat that i can harvest later.
-
I do the same when climbing flat mountain faces. Only difference is I rely on 6 rope ladders.
-
Just make a 2 deep pit trap, that is 3x3. Poke the wolf, and run like the devil is chasing you. Jump over the pit trap, and the wolf will run into the pit trap. Then I just pick it off with spears and get the meat if I need it. For now, I got a wolf farm with 18 wolves trapped, and I am not in a hurry to kill them. Got too much meat stocked up again, and need to get rid of that first.

Not that I've seen. I was looking for anything that would speed up that process too, like a modded container that increases curing speed but haven't had much luck. Going from Ale -> Vintage Whiskey takes a bit too long, especially if you are letting your ale cure all the way so distilling gives the most whiskey. Waiting 140 days just so for it to take another 42 days (without anything interrupting or slowing the process), and that is just from Ale to Stong Ale! I think my initial assessment of 1540 in-game days is way off, I didn't take into account the time it takes to cure AFTER the days until it starts to cure passes. Something that uses temporal gears to speed the curing process would be a good lore-friendly way of doing it, like an aging barrel hooked up to a temporal gear somehow. Tbh, I dont mind the waiting too much. I just put it in a cellar (that I named Feco Depo), and go back every other month to check the timer (or when a monster spawns inside during a temporal storm). Unless I am in a hurry to get aqua vitae for soulstorm brew, the wine and brandy can mature in peace.

@Requiem3The reason you cannot make soulstorm brew lies in a bug that exists when cooking refined soulstorm slop. For some reason, you pick it up as an item, instead of it being a liquid in the cauldron, or saucepan. If you take the refined soulstorm slop "item", and place it back into the saucepan or cauldron, it turns into a liquid, from where you can right click with a bucket, and retrieve the liquid. From there, you can go and distill that into soulstorm brew. With all due respect, @l33tmaan. The bug was reported bout a year ago, and its still an issue.

@DrBossWatson Is is. But I wanted to make part baked meat in a cauldron as well.
-
Wasn't there an option to cook part baked meat in the cauldron? cause I was sure that I was able to do that before 1.20.

Found it. Dont see any button to delete attachments though from there.

Happened to me on at least 5 worlds. As I said, I respawend, and instantly ran like a rack rabbit in the first direction I looked at when respawning. Wolfs on my tail the whole time for a good distance.

For some reason, when I tried to send an updated zip file with a patch modification to the original author, it is blocking the upload due to exceeding the attachment size limit of 1.285kb, and completely skipped it. Yet not even 2 days ago, I was able to send the complete zip file of 12kb with my modifications to it without problems. Did something change on the forums regarding attachment sizes?

Ah, I remember the few times when I started a new world (when I was still new at VS), and got turned into wolf chow within the first 2 seconds of entering the world. Best I can (and suggest that you) do is make like this guy...... Dig your heals in and start bolting away the second you respawn. Assuming you didnt have the unbelievable bad luck of starting a hardcore world with 1 life, and becoming wolf chow then. Good luck with VS, and welcome to the Forums.

you need to report the bug on the better ruins mod page if the crash is from that mod
-
My game does the same, only i managed to pin point it to the memory demand that all the mods make. Which unfortunately exceeds my 8Gb my laptop can provide, so I had to pair down a lot of my mods.
-
you can convert the chiscelled blocks back to normal however by using the Normalizer mod (https://mods.vintagestory.at/normalizer), or Disassemble Chiseled Block (https://mods.vintagestory.at/dischiselblock).
-
Check the memory requirement of the mods. Judging by that list you need at least 16Gb, and over. And the people crashing might have 8Gb ram (around there).

must be referring to the hell that is the discord in general.

The beehive kiln was originally a mod, its part of the base game now, and the mod was depreciated as a result. Just to remind you of that fact.

Does the greehouse have a glass ceiling under that sloped roof?

willing to live with a few bugs if it means improving existing stories and/or content

Try the mod Smithing Plus. I have that installed, and allows for repairs of tools.
