  1. Unless the gear is at 100% in a positive stable area, it'll pretty much stay still as well.
  2. All that needs to be done is balance how much grain is created. Force the player to determine how much needs to be retained for planting vs. grinding into meal. The hard part is balancing how much to grind into food before there's a large enough pool of grain to sustain the competing objectives. What would make it even more realistic is if yield was more variable, say 100% +/- 25%
  3. Temporally unstable areas can be quite large. In my current world I have a copper mine in the middle of huge area that is about 250 block radius and the min is just about dead center. By the time I've mined one deposit I'm almost down to 25% stability, climb the ladder and run to a stable area. I've seen that unstable areas are usually about 200 - 250 block diameter. As @Thorfinn asked - how much of the world have you explored? If it's more than a 500 block radius, are your sure the entirety of it is unstable? Meaning you may have checked for stability in an unstable area, run through a stable area (without checking stability) and run into a second unstable area when you checked stability again.
  4. "Good evening, sir? or is it ma'am? I can't tell. Yes. I can see that you are terrified. Something managed to take a good chunk out of your arm there. You like wrestling bears or something? What? It's right outside the door? Let me look..." I go to the door of my trading wagon and look about. Seeing nothing hostile I turn around, "I don't see anything out there. What groaning? I don't hear any groaning." I look suspiciously at this tall freakazoid wondering if it even lives in the same world as me. Now that my sleep deprived mind is firing on more cylinders, "And just what in the ever living holy moose patties gives you the impression it's socially acceptable to barge into someone's house unannounced?! Especially due to some imaginary creature stalking you? In the middle of the night no less! Now GET OUT!" "NO, I'm not open for business at this gods awful hour of the night! I was sleeping peacefully until you barged in here. I said GET OUT! NOW!" "Great. Just great! Now it's gonna take me an hour to get back to sleep with all that adrenaline in my veins. And I needed to get up to the Johnson's Corner tomorrow." >sigh< side note: this reminds me of Epic NPC Man by Viva La Dirt League.
  5. I wonder if creating amore realistic continent generation might be in the works as the update is based on forcing exploration and providing expanded travel options to make extended exploration more likely. Based on the teasers Tryon has put in Discord, it seems like mounts and sailing are probably pretty much done and there's still 3-5 months before his projection of 1.20 starts dropping. Hopefully some of that time will be spent on refining the new generation settings.
  6. Come now! soup made from bones in bony soil would have a rich earthy nuance to it that would pair well with certain wines, like a pinot noir.
  7. Those are the three variables that will determine how much land vs. water will be created. I don't know what kind of parameters to use for them to get what you're looking for. So, either keep adjusting those numbers or hopefully someone with more experience will be able to help.
  8. There are some called Very Important Vintarians who have donated money directly to the dev team apart from purchasing the game.
  9. These are cool ideas but would be for someone to mod. Devs base the game on eldritch concepts, notably Mr. HP Lovecraft, which is not magic but what happens when extra-dimensional beings/events happen.
  10. Sticks can also be used as a floor overlaying the block underneath.
  11. A week ago or so I logged into a server and had about 2-3 minutes of lag. Didn't realize I was lagging until all of my maneuvering to dig up 30 or 40 blocks of gravel launched me into a montage of fast forward motion. It was really funny watching the drifters in high speed video as well.
  12. That sounds... specific. I don't suppose you have deduced this possibility from personal experience?
  13. This looks a lot like the rot grub bug from 1.14.11. Just gotta manually disinfect each and every block individually. Just kidding. I don't have a clue.
  14. Helve hammer placement is fine. There just isn't enough power output from the single sail on a single windmill rotor. Putting a full set of 5 sails on the windmill will help, but likely still have inactive mechanisms when wind strength is low. For highest power, make four windmill rotors and max out the sails to 5 each. Next build the windmill part 60 blocks above sea level. Doing this will keep your helve hammer running more consistently, but may still have some periods of slowness.
  15. I was offering an alternative that I know works. But if you want to bite my head off for helping, I'll just leave you to your troubles.
  16. My first home tends to be a hole in a clay deposit that slowly expands.
  17. I just checked this closely. The ewe says "several days BEFORE ready to mate"
  18. Not exactly. Flax fabric is a generic recipe and repairs clothes. Just not as much repair as sewing kits.
  19. Why not just hold the mouse button down, no auto-clicker needed.
  20. Frankly, I wouldn't want bog iron like surface copper. I actually love the difficulty in the base game and easy to find iron would dramatically decrease the challenge of the mid to late game eras.
  21. Have you tried adjusting only the landform scale setting to see if that results in more desirable outcomes? I doubt the others would make any changes.
  22. Correct. Bee HIVES do care about moisture. Too much (and I don't know what that level is) prevents bees from spawning. I am pretty sure I've seen bee hives in areas where rainfall is very common.
  23. Bees only care about flowers. Flowers don't care about moisture. Ergo, bees don't care about rainfall.
