  1. How about of instead of losing HP, it reduces your max air capacity for a few hours.
  2. I saw the mod for the pottery wheel and I'm all for it! Automation to make the early mundane stuff quicker to accomplish is alright by me! Now I just hope they add custom glaze for pots in the future as well!
  3. Maybe have them use phosphorus as a primary nutrient? It may not be accurate to their actual needs, but it would be different for crop rotation I suppose.
  4. Honestly, I'd prefer if story progress dungeons were more puzzle based than boss based. The combat is serviceable at best, and the bosses are nothing more than a gear check.
  5. What if unstable regions were indicators of cool loot caches and ruins hidden underground, potentially DEEP underground? That would be a cool trade off for having a region a bit cut off.
  6. Something to help with orientation, moss always grows on the north side of trees.
  7. I've disabled surface spawning for rust enemies as well. I've found that it's always more of an annoyance than an actual threat. I absolutely loved bumping into a group of drifters whenever I did literally anything.
  8. Man, now I want a chocobo mod, music and everything.
  9. I can just imagine all those drifters flinging themselves off of cliffs just to get at you tumbling after they bit the dust.
  10. It was either go into creative to place torches or download a mod that enables fullbright. I chose the former. Believe what you will. When I saw this the first time, I thought the chunk in front of me bugged out. It was just a pitch black void with monster moans coming out of it.
  11. It would! Whenever there's wind
  12. I absolutely love building little dwellings for villagers in Block Game. Seeing what's possible in VS has me motivated to eventually start a modded playthrough centered around building towns and infrastructure. I kinda want to wait for the upcoming teased update before starting all over from scratch again.
  13. Your windmill looks so nice! Certainly far better than The Contraption.
  14. Certainly fancier than my blocky house. Still trying to remember that chiseling exists.
  15. Absolutely massive cavern opening that I found while translocator hopping
  16. I don't think animals just despawn on their own. There's been a bear trapped on a spire for over a year now in my world.
  17. Functional palisades would be pretty cool! As for the arrows, I believe the crude arrow recipe is likely the best we're going to get in terms of early projectiles. From a gameplay perspective, crude arrows are already kinda poopy, so making an even weaker variant can feel redundant.
  18. Leather armor comes with no downsides for wearing it. Definitely something worth working towards if you have access to the materials for it.
  19. I personally find it funny that hitting a monster made of rust and fabric sounds like you're slapping your cheek. Definitely could be a lot more satisfying, as it's been said in this thread already, combat definitely needs some work.
  20. Agree to disagree ig
  21. Rimworld does have an end goal to obtain, but a colony going out in a ridiculous blaze of glory can be pretty entertaining. Fortresses in dwarf fortress are doomed to fail, but their ruins exist to further deepen the lore of your world. In VS, it's just you versus the elements. Unless you're playing hardcore, the only thing you really risk is your potential productivity. It's absolutely awful going through winter without a decent stock of flax. Windmills are a huge milestone when it comes to progression, and gobble up stacks of linen just to be adequately productive. So while the degree for failure is significantly different, your fun hinders on you making the best of your time.
  22. Aside from the story stuff, I don't recommend going in blind. This game doesn't have the whole "losing is fun" stuff games like dwarf fortress and rimworld have. It requires having a plan, and a general idea of what you should be prioritizing. Otherwise, you're going to find yourself stuck indoors during winter bored out of your mind trying to pass the season as soon as possible.
  23. I believe temperature spoilage rate isn't factored into the container's shown spoilage rate, just on what bonuses the room provides. @OP I'd suggest putting all of your cellars a couple blocks underground. It may help with your strange room behaviors.
