if your PC can handle it, increasing your render distance might help. But yeah..... would be cool if they gave more beacon like options.

I like the falx just fine.... but in my view it needs to hit harder (especially against rot beasts and especially the steel versions) to justify the loss of range from the spear. I do like the look of the falx. I get why some don't though...

Not even sure what you mean by this given that a lot of governments have passed very well publicized anti porn legislation around requiring age verification. This includes the UK government and many US states. I'm not trying to get into the politics of it, but this is a pretty well known thing. This much is true, but doesn't contradict what I was talking about at all. I also do not trust them with personal data at all. I'm just saying government regulations are deliberately killing the golden era of easy anonymous access.

The thing is.... this isn't really about discord the application, it's about certain draconian legislation they have to follow. Any discord competitors will have to do the same if they get too big to fly under the radar. I don't like it, but discord isn't really the problem. Don't want to get too political here, but this is a problem with certain governments, not apps.

What do you do with silver/gold/meteoric iron?
Vexxvididu replied to ItzWalterino's topic in Questions
You do not, actually. Solder is lead and tin. EDIT: There is also silver solder, but that is optional I think? -
Make iron feel more valuable and satisfying to find
Vexxvididu replied to aleq's topic in Suggestions
RNG can be cruel with iron... I struggled a lot to find it in my current game. I think it's mostly fine how it is. With iron, the bigger reward is in how much work it takes to process the ingots or make steel. -
What do you do with silver/gold/meteoric iron?
Vexxvididu replied to ItzWalterino's topic in Questions
Meteoric Iron is what I use for most of my tools until steel is abundant, which takes some time. I still might use it if I think something is not quite worth a steel ingot. Silver and gold can be used to make black bronze, which is great to sell to merchants even if you actually use iron or better for your own tools. And of course, it's worth making at least one silver plate to line my lantern that i carry everywhere. -
I agree with your sentiment! But as a minor math correction the percentages compound and not add. They were functioning at 110% and now will function at 50% so that's actually 1-(50/110) = 54.545% worse. Your point stands, I'm just being a math geek. This is especially annoying with trying to get enough flax fiber for some stuff. We are supposed to get more seeds to compensate but it's still a bit annoying. Though I do feel inclined to agree the food grains were slightly over powered... I personally would have just cut the yields by like 15% for the food grain and probably left flax fiber yields were it was.

yeah, in general, acronyms cost the audience a lot more time than they save the speaker.

Yes, and the patch notes said you could reduce the odds of a quench crack by tempering it. It's also worth noting that ONLY carbon steels harden with a quench in the real world. Quenching bronze or wrought iron will not harden it. And some allows are even quenched as part of the annealing process.

Why does iron ore sizzle and sparkle in the bloomeries?
Vexxvididu replied to ToothedMammal's topic in Questions
The bloomery gets at least to 1500C This will glow bright hot and just about any "natural" fuel will sparkle like that as bits burn off really hot. Normal firewood also makes sparks like that as it burns in the real world. -
just to add to this, most work items are one durability to break down, an anvil is all the durability of a chisel of the same material. So an iron chisel can work alright.

Why cant we have a 3x3 and 3x4 doors!!!!?????!/!/!!
Vexxvididu replied to bubnartar's topic in Discussion
Hi and welcome to the forms. And I think it's always bad to ask "Why can't we have X" instead of just saying "I'd like to see X added" since game development isn't about denying people features, it's about creating them. You got to realize creation of every possible thing in Vintage Story runs into a heavy combinatorial explosion problem. They can't create every combination of everything... If you want these specific door sizes, lean to create them with a mod! -
I like a lot of the ideas discussed here. I've long wanted some way to repair or recycle broken tools. One option I like is that once you've used a tool to death, such as a pickaxe, you get a "Broken [[metal]] pickaxe". You can then use a chisel on it to get a random 10-20 bits of the same metal back. You can then smelt these bits back into an ingot with a bloomery or crucible depending on the metal. I'm also a fan of letting you partly repair tools on a grindstone OR just reforging it with some bits of the same metal. If you are reforging it with metal bits, it would make sense to let you fully repair it in exchange for like 5 or so bits of the same metal. For any kind of repair, it makes sense to me if the stick breaks and you just have to replace the stick.

Ohhh! I didn't catch that! But that's cool. Here's to 10 more years! (and many more).

AWESOME!!! I love this game and had fun getting some friends into it.

For funsies... what has been your worst base decision?
Vexxvididu replied to Broccoli Clock's topic in Discussion
my first real survival world I made rooms way too big and that made it a lot harder to spawn proof them... couldn't figure out why I kept getting drifters for a while. Now I use a light level mod and build smaller rooms so that problem is easier to manage. My current base is mostly a very practical design but part of it is on slightly unstable land which is just a bit annoying. More specifically, my bees, pit kilns, and cellar are all slightly unstable. It's only a minor issue, but still... wish I had paid slightly more attention early on. -
Removing Drifters by Deleting 'Lore' Folder in Entities
Vexxvididu replied to Homunculiar's topic in Questions
just deleting the .json files might cause the game to error out as it looks for them. So I'm not sure it's quite that easy to get rid of them. You can modify the files to give them all 1 HP or something like that and attack for 0.1 or 0. -
As @LadyWYT said, it's VERY likely in your spam folder or something like that. Gmail in particular is so good and finding spam it finds stuff that isn't spam....

Alcohol is often very important as a fuel and a solvent! I'd love to see more uses of it along those lines.... but I certainly agree that drinking it is useless.

rope ladders! They are reusable. I carry a stack of them everywhere.

Hi, and welcome to the forums! Baby animals in this game will seem to mature on their own without support. I think you really only need to feed animals to get them to breed. I've had baby animals trapped in a pit and abandoned still grow up!

I agree and have voiced similar opinions before about all surface animals being too strong. I actually think most monsters are fine and you can mostly avoid them till you have armor made and so forth. Tailored gambeson or better armor makes most of them easy, but bears and wolves are ROUGH for starting players. I switched them to passive a while back and never looked back, haha.
