  1. This is a very unusual situation. I agree with everyone. I think the combat animation needs to be improved. But at the same time, it shouldn't be too pretentious.
  2. He chiselled everything except the bricks. Look at the wood grain on the floor. This grain will tell you where the next block begins. A brick block is thinner than a full block. Some carved blocks can interfere with the thermal insulation of a room. Wall insulation mods ( first / second ) are available for this purpose.
  3. Our family has started a new game about four times. Three out of four times, we found iron without even crafting a single copper chainmail cuirass. In the last game, we deliberately didn't install prospecting mods (and found iron again before crafting copper armor). We found not only iron, but also ilmenite, pentaldite, chromium, and cinnabar (cinnabar was hard to find, but we really wanted it). We had no luck with caves, and all the ores I mentioned were found through prospecting. We simply dug mines in areas with a good ore content. We constantly go into caves and look for translocators. We unlock translocators (the clockmaker in the team improves this method) and explore new lands with a prospector's pickaxe. Every time we go far from home to lands we haven't been before, we take a prospector's pickaxe. We never mine in areas with low ore content. We're looking for a place with above-average ore content. This way, we don't have any problems with ore. The fact that someone can't do this isn't because the mechanics are broken, but because they don't understand how to use them.
  4. Before the update, the mill worked, after the update it stopped. We broke all the mechanical blocks of the mill and reinstalled them, but it did not help. Returning to the previous version of the game (1.21.0-rc.4) made the mill work again.
  5. There seems to be some kind of generation glitch here. When we visited this location, all the buildings were at ground level (and the chests had nothing useful - only decorative junk, completely useless in our cozy home). I'm not sure where it is better to add a spoiler, so I'll put it here. I understand the desire to take blocks for your creative ideas. Perhaps we will be allowed to do this later. There are many cases where blocks were only available for creative mode after several versions of the game became available for crafting.
  6. The same author (Gerste) created another mod. Did you check it out https://mods.vintagestory.at/vsquest?
  7. My sister and I were playing recently. We were playing an unstable version and weren't surprised when the game crashed. But after restarting the game, my sister couldn't connect the same way she had 10 minutes earlier. We don't know what happened either. Disabling Windows Defender allowed her to connect, but we don't want to use that method. Since then, weird things have been happening with the connection. She connected in a way we couldn't for a couple of years. We suspect our ISP and Windows Defender.
  8. They may have stopped only because their pet bear escaped. By the way, have you seen him?
  9. It seems like a big risk. I think a lot of developers feel like they've lost a friend. I understand what it's like to work on a game, love it, and then suddenly it's over. As a creative person, I sincerely wish for them to finally realize their dream. As a gamer, I'll say this. If Hytale overcomes all the difficulties and comes out, I'll have one more favorite game.
  10. I'm not sure I understood your question correctly. I assume that you (like many players) do not know that in addition to a simple sandbox, the game already has special places that complement the history of the world. (I will also note that the game has books and notes of those who lived during the apocalypse. It can be found in ruins or filtered from the soil with bones. And the game has also tapestries that can be collected entirely, hung on the wall and, looking at them, learn a piece of history) I will hide the rest under the spoiler, so that those who have already gone to forge a pickaxe from tin bronze do not spoil their pleasure from independent exploration.
  11. You may not have seen the place where the game's plot begins. If you bring the Tin Bronze Pickaxe to the Treasure Merchant (he'll ask about it), he'll tell you where to go. This is where the adventure begins, and the long journey to find answers. This journey doesn't require technological advancement. But without it, it won't be easy. Yes, we could imagine a wider range of adventures while watching Hytale cutscenes. But I think this way of getting to know the history of the game world will also captivate you for a while.
  12. My sister and I play with this bug. Yes, it's inconvenient, but we have a temporary solution: when someone has almost no health, you can finish them off and revive them with one cheap bandage. Health points will be full
  13. I think it's rude to come to a forum for a game that obviously a lot of people like and say, "Your developers are pompous slobs." Why? To satisfy your own sense of self-importance? In light of recent events, I want to point out that the game "by our developers": 1 exists 2 works 3 is updated frequently 4 captivates a lot of people 5 captivates for a long time Even if you're more successful at work, you're being toxic and getting a corresponding reaction.
  14. The letters on the screen are something unnecessary in the opinion of some modern players. I don’t think that the game developers are targeting such people. As was said earlier, the game has a good tutorial that starts after the first steps in the game. It teaches how to use the manual and find information. The “survival” genre assumes the player’s readiness to understand the mechanics and make an effort to learn. From the very beginning, the game presented itself as a more difficult analogue of Minecraft. But Minecraft has creatures that can destroy everything you have built and saved for a long time in a second, and creatures that are simply dangerous to look at. Just imagine - games like Green Hell or Project Zomboid have a huge number of positive reviews. But these games hate beginners and try to kill them from the first steps in the most inventive ways!
  15. The amount of voxels required is a real problem. As we progress through the story, we come across one place. The buildings there don't look damaged, but they aren't isolated rooms because of the beautiful thin windows. So even for the game's creators, the voxels weren't enough. Personally, I don't make unique windows because of this problem.
  16. If you play alone, the place where the map doesn't open doesn't exist yet. World generation happens when you visit a new area. The parts of the world that fall within your view radius are generated. This is why the save file gets so big when you travel a lot. More draw distance = more generation = more map opens (but the game can lag and your hard drive space quickly decreases). For playing with friends (I'm not sure) there was an addon for sharing maps.
  17. Thank you! It's nice to know that the error is known, we will wait for a solution
  18. We also have this problem all the time. Three of us play. Each of us has this error at different times. Restarting the world turned out to be unnecessary. Closing and opening the inventory and chest several times helps. The inscriptions appear again. But this is, of course, inconvenient.
  19. We have been playing for a long time, but we don't use metal signs every time. I distinctly remember writing on a sign about 2 years ago, and it worked in several languages. About a year ago, we first encountered strange behavior of the sign. Now we remembered about the beautiful signs again, tested them and got a little upset. If I use a wooden sign, it still works in all languages. If I take a metal sign, I can only write on it in English, other languages create invisible letters (or spaces, I'm not sure). In the screenshot, I used the same key on the keyboard, first in English, then in Russian. Does anyone know what to do with this?
  20. I would recommend testing before installing mods in the main world. Create a world without the mod. Install the mod, see how it appears in this world, make some things from this mod. Remove the mod, see what happens to the test world now. This helps to understand what you are risking when installing different types of mods (although it does not give the full picture) I think the most useful mod is "Immersive Corpse Drop". When you are fighting monsters all night, you look at the inventory of each of them. 9 out of 10 can be empty, and the process of opening and closing an empty inventory is very annoying. Especially if there are not 10 monsters, but 50
  21. I find it funny that your first mods became my second or third. Carry Capacity, Hud clock. Also, QP Chisel Tools and Prospecting Together mods are simply irreplaceable for me. Because I constantly decorate my house and the houses of my friends. Vanilla chisel is not enough for this. And we also take turns scouting the territory. It is important for us to be able to share information about the metals we find. Before that, we exchanged screenshots of our maps, and this requires third-party programs, which is inconvenient. We're also concerned about the update speed of some mods, but in the later stages of the game we often want something more in our travels. I try to choose mods that will not break our world when uninstalled. But It is not unacceptable for us if we get several "?" blocks. Sometimes these are cooking mods (Expanded Foods, my sister loves to cook dumplings and yogurt), Outlaw (Oh! We are very sad that it is not working now. We miss the phrases "I see you" when an aggressive squad comes out to meet you), Better ruins, or ViesCraft
  22. We played for a long time without mods. The game is amazing without them. But in the lives of many players, one thing happens. "Oh, I'll install only one mod, I like absolutely everything in the game except this one:..." But the next day you try another mod. And then another. They are so easy to install... And now you have 20 or 50 of them in your "mods" folder What was the first mod you installed? For us, it was https://mods.vintagestory.at/immersivecorpsedrop
  23. Sorry if I'm intruding on your cozy mod-free world. My friends and I use this mod and it works great for auto-washing. It hasn't been updated for a long time and it has a nuance with the placement of the block (never attach to an already finished shaft. First the auto-sifters then the shaft.) But it works in the current version of the game. This is a well-balanced mod that uses the energy of the mill and depends on your progress in metals. 3 auto-sifters 4 blocks of sand on each and you don't have to sit in a puddle - you continue to do interesting things. https://mods.vintagestory.at/autosifter I tested this mod several times before installing it in the main world and it does not break the world for me (the crash in case of incorrect placement is annoying, but does not damage anything and this is a rare case)
  24. Just recently I deleted the new version and installed the old version of the game just to enter the old world. And then I deleted the old version and installed the current one again. Next time I will use your method!
  25. As for me, I don't like that I constantly shoot myself in the foot. Maybe in the knee. It happens every time I hang a rope ladder from the cave ceiling and shoot back at a group of nightmares
