ignore this if it's what you're already doing- but my advice to vanilla-y "speed up" leather is by making ridiculous amounts of tannin ahead of time and in bulk so the only waiting is the barrel timers, then have multiple 'loads' of leather going through each step, that way it's harder to fall short, and gives a bit more to do in the interim :3

it's insanely sad to me how little trust people put into the devs who have been making this game for 10 years. like all of the sudden everything they stand for is going to come crashing down because of one person hired not even a full year ago.

i love the idea of a celebration tool!! considering how much processing i imagine they'd need (all that sulphur colored paper, metal salts) , could be a high-value item for traders to give them a 'real use' outside of just looking cool. but yeah gotta agree with everyone else on the rest-- rockets for combat and gliding isn't fitting for this game, just kinda feels like adding something just because it's in minecraft. using a loud sound to scare away predators/wildlife seems like the most likely option of the bunch!

I’m attempting to make a VR mod (v1 already out 3rd page)
Demoncyborg replied to Reva Revenant's topic in Discussion
you've been making some incredible progress holy shit, really nice work, good luck!!! -
i don't normally go here, but I think the response was because taking one look at the channel reveals nothing but AI generated thumbnails and some very obvious clickbait. like seriously, what is with those titles? I don't think this is someone with a vested interest in history, this is for clicks.

personally, I feel like grain is the alcohol option for people who play without much fruit access (or have already eaten/fermented all of their stores). it can be grown for a huge part of the year (depending on where you live.) with more chances to harvest than fruit. and on top of that you can end up growing it even faster with better soil and fertilizer i always thought it felt alright with how much grain used to overproduce, but I haven't played for an extended time since the reduced grain output update dropped, so i'm not certain on how much more difficult or later in the game that kind of setup ends up now. so, realistically you're not wrong, it has some very diminishing returns, and seemingly no 'realistic purpose' for the average singleplaying gamer, but you could say that about.. a million other things in this game too. why does meteoric iron even exist, and is harder to find, when steel is better? why are there so many types of every food, and such a complex system to cook them when you can EASILY survive on hefty onion stew and flax porridge? wtf is even the point of mushrooms if they're so low satiety? why would they even add psychedelic mushrooms? why can you catch butterflies? none of those have any 'true' purpose either, other than making the game have more juice. i play exclusively multiplayer. grain alcohol to me, is what I spend my time doing in winter (when i finished pressing all the fruit finally.). if it wasn't so hard to make, it wouldn't feel so special putting it out on the table every winter for my friends. it's a special treat of excess!

What food category would corn belong to in game?
Demoncyborg replied to SnapJelly's topic in Discussion
i'm confused that grain is winning, but i went vegetable, based off Cassava also being counted as vegetable despite functioning as a grain edit: I like what MKmoose said, turning it to grain when it becomes flour like Cassava too. and now i wonder if it's introduced are we getting a one-corn-fits-all? will we have feed corn and dent corn? you cant just mill any old corn you find. -
What are the luckiest moments you've had in game?
Demoncyborg replied to SnapJelly's topic in Discussion

1.22.3: Sheep and Pig Reproduction Not Working?
Demoncyborg replied to LedZeptallica24's topic in Discussion
the males do have to be fed at least once as well to mate, as far as i remember -
i think this is less known in general, but as long as you're raising sheep/goats.. no need for perishable food whatsoever :3 (LadyWYT mentioned this earlier, but i think it's been lost in the madness.)

it's probably even harder to make pretty, and more wasteful than just waterwheel for looks, but in the meantime, you can actually force waterwheels to spin without rapids by connecting it to a windmill. it'll spin with wind power, and still turn in regular water for looks.

alcohol (ale) from flour is the other, it even gives a tiny bit of grain saturation

I will say, a good few translocaters can almost completely erase the need for a boat or even an elk, and there are always way more than expected within an area. the glider is more 'endgame' to get than that in my opinion, so i feel like it'd make sense for it to be at least somewhat stronger than it is- your backpack capacity is lowered, unlike when you use a boat or elk, so I just think it could go with being a bit easier to properly use. the booster idea sounds like a cool mod, but I can't think of any mechanical suggestions that don't seem like too much. I just think it shouldn't drag you down quiiiite as fast.

i'm not sure how accurate it still is if anything's changed, but the wiki has a detailed bit on best fuels for the beehive and pit kiln! :] by the looks of it, Coal should be your answer

it's not postponed! should be entirely possible. Put the wrench in your offhand, and the block in your main hand, then look at the axle and hold ctrl while placing. and then your passthrough should work perfectly :3

maybe it's just me but i always felt like the walking stick mod gave it a piece that it was missing. i never found it awkward looking, but without my walking stick it is now.
