sly800 Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 I've been playing a lot on a server with a couple of friends, we started playing about a month ago and just yesterday we made our first batch of steel! Now we are in the process of making some sturdy backpacks and gearing up to take on the second chapter of the story, but I've been thinking about what are some other fun projects we can start next. I've already been working on domesticating chickens and hares for a while so I'll probably start doing the same to other animal species and we've been talking about adventuring to southern regions once winter ends (and hopefully find an ocean in the way because I really want to build a sailboat) but I'd love some suggestions for things to build, stuff to explore and maybe even some fun mods we could install to bring new life into the game.
Zaph42nd Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 Will say for me it's been fleshing out my infrastructure (decorate roads, change my dirt-paths to stone-paths, expand main-roads, etc...) and adding more details to my builds (chiseling is addictive), though I know some people prefer grand-builds for late-game

I have not even done the story missions yet. I plan to but its been est. about 1000 hours of game play in VS overall and I still haven't done it. Mainly because I had a bad habit of starting over. Regardless, to your question. If you have not been 20,000 blocks south you absolutely need to, if you have not installed the Better Ruins mod you absolutely need to. I currently have two bases with 3 more in the plans and a road system that I plan to make connecting them all, going all the way 20,000 blocks, there is litearlly a million by a million blocks to explore and it gets intresting going south of spawn Edited June 25 by CastIronFabric

Building a nice fort or mansion to live in and trying to collect the basic tameable livestock or trying to collect butterflies or all the shell varieties could also be entertaining. Maybe build a museum to display everything in?

I've never made steel (too much work I guess) and I have created a road to the first story location. I will have to make a run 20K South... sounds like an adventure! Another goal I'm making in my current world is to find crystals/geodes. Enjoy

Enjoy I would start over many times to try and get the best clean early/mid game down solid but now I am thinking: 'If I want to start over, just move far from my main base and bring whatever kick starter gear I want if any at all. I can not suggest installing Better Ruins mod before you open up too much of the map. It used to be a great mod, now its an unbelievably awesome mod Edited June 25 by CastIronFabric
