Yes, which takes a slot and will extinguish until externally lit again if submerged. I don't see why there can't be two: One that's as simple as a trench lighter or a Zippo and one that's Jonas-y. None of the light sources have durabilities, though? Seems kind of needless. I suppose maybe fuel? Fill it with fat/oil every once in a while. The point is to have a reusable, unobtrusive light/fire source that doesn't take forever to light, isn't as effected by weather conditions etc You're trying to gamify this too much. I just want a lighter, man. And it's not above our accessible tech levels. Stick it in a pocket, use the "wearable light source" button to on/off it or whatever. Great in an emergency, out of the way when you don't need it and doesn't dump with your gubbins on death.

I think, with solving the Riddle of Steel and repairing teleporters to travel halfway across the planet in the blink of an eye, then delving foreign caverns using our night vision, waterbreathing helmets... We should be able to invent a pocket lighter, right? To elaborate: It would give us a use for Brass. Possibly an array of decorative metals? Produces light when "on" but cannot remain "on" underwater Lights fires Small form factor could make it a hotkey rather than taking slots

You've already answered this. Heat, or maybe beat on it some. Maybe just as simple as requiring multiple open attempts to "bash" your door open. Or running punch. Or a soldering iron. Or a torch. Or a blowtorch.

balance Make Drifters only throw rocks at long-range
Entaris replied to Warentan's topic in Suggestions
It wouldn't be so bad if every mob's attacks were uninterruptible. Then I could see a kind of "counterpunching" style to emerge, ducking back, triggering a rock throw, then darting back in to stick'em with their arms up to stagger them a little. As it stands, the random close range rocks is on par with the 180 no scope free hits bowtorn get during the chase. -
Do people actually follow the nutrient bars? Having +1 health doesn't really seem worth the effort of specifically sourcing individual food needs.

I dunno about you guys, but I don't really have an issue with the snow. It doesn't pile up high enough to impede travel or exiting my buildings, so I'm fine. Now, were we to MAKE that a problem, letting the snow pile up more like Charcoal without as much of an angle of repose, that'd be something.

Great, MORE things to go wrong exclusively in the winter. I can see it now, waking up one morning and you're frozen into the house, having to bash the door a few times or really get the place cookin before you can pry yourself from an ice-encased prison, the ice having formed saltpeter-like layers around all naked surfaces and making it a bear to access literally anything you've left outside as it's held fast to the ground or nearby structure. We already have the annoying 10-degree thaw/frost cycles of early spring, let's throw tornados into it as well, so it REALLY feels like I never escaped Michigan.

That's a good point, as well, since chiseled blocks typically drop THEMSELVES exclusively (much to my chagrin on finding A WHOLE BRONZE BELL...which was subsequently unmeltable)

Well, I guess we're about to find out if Tyron et al patrol the forum. Because that's the only guy I can think of that would grasp this, hahaha. Good luck, bud.

Game needs coffee making please. Also tea growing

Well, chai would require spice/leaf blending, but i don't see why we couldn't do the full range of coffee...uh...mixtures? Yknow, types. However, we all know the true end-game drink would be the Pumpkin Spice Latte. -
Here we go Wassailing? Oh boy, is there a new thread, just opened up for you! Fresh back from the graveyard!

See, I've been gifted with particularly bizarre tastebuds, so while I, too, am particular with my coffee, I somehow enjoy most of the bitter notes up to yet just shy of that "unregulated $10 CoffeeMate 300 degree water for a minute and a half steep" type burny nastiness. I use a kettle wired to just barely boil water. That and I experiment with additives. Still like it mostly black. Dash of cocoa. PS: The grind size thing is I don't like feeling like I'm drinking sand. Espresso grind sticks to the sides and bottom of my hourglass-shaped mug, so it stays down there. The bigger stuff floats. -

Personally, I'd just go with some fine-ground straight into a cup, Turkish style. -
We are both playing the same game, yes? Where it takes like four hours to make a board? Where it takes in-game WEEKS to make leather?

Necro to updoot, as I just had this thought as well. -
Necro for relevant question: Does anybody know if "Titanium Plate" is in the vanilla code? Because I've got a weird, bugged out iron bloom that went STRAIGHT to forging a Plate, but the Plate classes as Titanium Plate (on a Black Bronze anvil, no less), so I can't make it an ingot anymore AND I can't add another ingot to make an iron plate. If it's an otherwise unimplemented entity in the vanilla code, I'll submit an Issue Ticket, but if it's from my mods, I'll have to get back to digging. Update: So, the helve hammer finished it. Now I have a titanium plate. It has a model and everything. Uhh...

Sure, however, those can be gated behind Mode/Challenge option panel, they are grand, sweeping change sets. Much like the "Advanced settings" buttons for many Graphics sections of games. Vastly simplifying the config menu landscape.
-
Yes, but that would defeat the purpose of the player having ever SELECTED the game mode in the first place, so that's kind of a moot point. I mean, would it though? It would simply be adding one more thing to the Game Mode dropdown, at its most basic level. Then, upon choosing, it would open up further options. Maybe.

Ooo, yeah we should get oil. I'd love to see Tyron's hands get ahold of the refinery process.
