The roadmap says: Seasons and Seasonal Farming. [Dont we already have that?]
redram replied to ReGristy's topic in Discussion
We do have seasons. Probably just didn't get it taken off the roadmap. Though it could also refer to moving crop growth times to a year-long scale, which is also planned. Rather than having them mature every few days. -
Ya, it'll all make it in eventually. We only have 2 programmers though, so eventually can be a rather long time. So we like to get a feel for what the community wants.

In the game configs when you're making a world, there are options for mob aggressiveness. I believe there's one option that makes drifters non-aggressive. You can also change most of these settings after starting the world. See this page of the wiki. Specifically in this case, you're looking for /worldconfig creatureHostility [aggressive|passive|off]

Most likely, the character sheet data is in Celcius. 28 degree C, for instance, is 82 degress F.

Yes, it's already planned to make it so can only wear one backpack. You'll still have 4 slots, the other 3 will support various other containers, some specialized (like the current mining bag), some not. There will be some re-shuffling of capacity when this happens, to account for no longer being able to wear 4 backpacks at once.

Halite is difficult to find. You won't usually find it just running around, or glancing down caves. You'll need to use the propick, and then do some cave searching in a high chance area. Limestone (and chalk) only occur in the top (sedimentary) layers, so is they are easier to find running around, or looking down caves. It helps to be aware that there can be multiple sedimentary layers at once, and so even if the top sedimentary layer is not limestone, there could be limestone underneath. Also, basalt can be above *any* rock type (it represents a geologically recent eruption of lava). So you can also find limestone beneath basalt. But if your top layer is igneous or metamorphic, there is 0 chance of limestone or chalk in that area. Several traders will sell you salt, so not being able to find halite isn't the end of the world. Especially in a single player game, you don't really need it at all. I think commodity and maybe one or two other traders will sell you lime, but you do need lime in fairly large quantity to get steel (for the mortar), so it's more important than halite.

As Junawood said, if you find surface bits, that means there's a deposit in the stone beneath. If you don't have a tier 3 tool, you can also use ore blasting bombs - they require sulfur, saltpeter, and charcoal, and one recipe gets your like 8 or 10 bombs iirc.
-
This is already planned. You will have a chance to get a 'bonus nugget' when processing ore this way. If there is a desire to have different grades of a given material, you'll simply have to run it through multiple times to get the finer grade.

I believe they still prevent spawning during non-temporal-storm times. So they're good for keeping drifters out of your cellar most of the time, I think.
-
The flower and hive detection range of skeps is fairly short - only around 7 blocks or so I believe. So the odds of you randomly placing a skep within range of a hive that you somehow did not hear is extremely low, I'd say.
-
drifter spawning during temporal storms is more liberal, on purpose - half slabs won't stop them then.

iirc there actually is also a texture for 'mixed grains'. Not mixed vegetables yet though, afaik.

Is there any way to change the world setting in the middle of the game?
redram replied to Tsutomu Ookawa's topic in Questions
Yes, see the wiki page: https://wiki.vintagestory.at/index.php?title=List_of_server_commands#World_Control. You will have to close the world and open it again for the settings changes to take effect. In most cases they won't be retroactive to old chunks and old items. -
As Streetwind mentioned, always best to check the handbook to find what stones a given ore spawns in. Borax only spawns in sedimentary stone types, and basalt is *not* sedimentary. however, there could be sedimentary layers underneath the basalt, potentially...

iirc, they can be found in the vanilla game as very rare ruin loot. But cannot be crafted.
-
I think that only happens once, at world gen. Not repeatedly. afaik.

I don't believe the 'domesticatable' animals respawn, no. The 1.15 update should hopefully address the issue of transporting animals, or at least chickens anyway.

I haven't seen Tony post here in about 8 months. I don't think the servers are currently up, nor have they been for some time.

Does eating honey still heal? We have poultices for that now, which I'd imagine are much more efficient.
-
I don't know of any plans to change it. But, nor do I know that it's specifically desired that it not be possible. Might just be something that's not been addressed to this point. It'd be a very low priority item, if it were to happen.
-
It will have use, in healing, among other things.

They likely were already there, or the person grew a tree and removed the logs (the saw allows you to remove individual logs without 'felling' the whole thing). That or they used a mod. There's no vanilla way to obtain leafy blocks.
-
You tried right clicking on it? Maybe with an empty hand?
-
To best of my knowledge, it does not, yet.
