  1. Love, love, love it. Absolutely love it!
  2. I was going to say "longjaw cisco" until I realized they are were freshwater fish. Actually, basically all of the fish I know are freshwater. Oh! I have a good one. The NZ grayling. I think that's the only saltwater fish to have gone provably extinct in the last few centuries.
  3. I first found that you can use the block in front of the toggle, but not the one above that, when I was stacking charcoal near my forge setup. When it got above the first block, it stopped working!
  4. The Meteoric Expansion mod does more or less what you're suggesting and picturing. I find it absolutely necessary for every playthrough.
  5. I swear there is a mod that makes all speleothems into chalk/calcite. Edit: There is! Limestone Speleothems v1.1.0
  6. It does indeed! That's a great mod, overall. I'm not currently using it, but I plan to on my next world.
  7. Thank you! Aside from repairing saves, I don't think I've ever looked in that menu. I appreciate it greatly!
  8. This is something I've run into wishing for as well!
  9. I'm excited to see the upcoming new modes of long-distance travel! That will add a lot of fun to the world, I believe. About the shattering molds, is that a configurable setting? Actually that reminds me, is there any hope of a config setting for "mouse lag" while swimming?
  10. This is incredibly ambitious and so far very well executed. Kudos!
  11. Great, now I want salo...
  12. The idea interests me, as long as it's more like meteoric iron in terms of rarity versus finding a larger deposit like surface copper or deep iron.
  13. Without knowing what mods are being used, I can't even begin to guess.
  14. I really love the layer of sticks used as a shade source, I'm absolutely borrowing that idea for my current hot world.
  15. I absolutely agree. In fact, I use three mods specifically to allow for greater use of bones. Lichen Continued, Expanded Foods, and Tailor's Delight. In the base game, you can use bone meal for a P source in farming. I always do, in addition to now using it for making terra preta.
  16. Love this idea!
  17. That could be quite interesting, as long as certain traits are very high cost. Perhaps an additional class alongside commoner: custom.
  18. Wow! Perhaps I've been thinking too small... that looks great!
  19. I generally manage to find cassiterite before getting enough bismuth and zinc together, and surely before getting enough gold and silver, so I end up using tin bronze mostly.
  20. Going for roundness in VS always feels so wrong, but I do plan on trying to combine the stepped levels of the logged type with the chiseled type. I like and dislike aspects of both, for sure! I don't normally go overboard with being decorative, but I've been trying to get into it a bit more. My main sticking point in making a windmill 3x3 at any point is then there's no longer room to add a ladder and climb inside of it, once the large gear is added at the top.
  21. When making charcoal, you do have to use a firepit. If you simply ignite the wood, the best case is that the block you ignited burns and leaves the rest alone. Worst case, all of the wood is simply burned. If you hear fire, it's not working right! Incidentally, when you make a proper charcoal pit, the tooltip on the firepit will change to "charcoal pit (unlit)". Once you light it, it changes to something about having 30 in-game minutes to cover it.
  22. Dana Tweaks, I believe. Lots of interesting choices to enable/disable in that mod, it really adds to the customization in-game.
  23. Excellent advice for the especially difficult to fix situations!
  24. Glad you got it fixed up!
  25. What version are you on? I use 1.19.8 and the fire in pit kilns and on grass, etc., displays normally.
