  1. This sounds cool, but I'm a little confused. Are you hosting the servers for people to use, or a service for buying officially endorsed servers?
  2. The Mod DB is awesome, and will be an incredible addition to the game! Thanks so much for all the awesome work, guys!
  3. I haven't been on in a while, work and stuff. Has the server been recently reset?
  4. Wait....you were doing all of this great work on a 2016 laptop?! Well! That makes this even more awesome, thanks for the patch!
  5. Random in what sense, as in when/how they happen or that it seems randomly put into the game? I think both would need some time because I'm pretty sure there's a story/lore behind it all.
  6. Why can't it be hyper realism because it has "monsters" and weird storms? I don't think its a good idea to conflate realism (elements) with non-fantasy/sci-fi.
  7. I know a few people who have developed games and releases on iOS. They have all said it was a nightmare, and that was before their recent anti-consumer changes. It's sad it came to this.
  8. I actually found the game a while ago while searching for Minecraft like games. Someone mentioned it and I looked it up, and fell in love with it instantly. I'm so glad youtubers are bringing light to this game, deserves all the attention.
  9. What a update! I'm gonna feel daunted by the temperature system, but it is going to be a lot of fun to get around, too! Thanks for the awesome work! EDIT Windows Defender flags the updater as a dangerous file. EDIT Suggestion, as someone who gets motion sickness very--very--easily in video games...allow the option to disable the screen shaking. The effect is more than enough for a giveaway, but for people like me the constant shaking makes me pretty violently ill. Also, if you drop items in water or if they fall into water, they start to swim away at the speed of light. lol
  10. This is neat! Thanks for sharing!
  11. The easiest way to set up multiplayer if for some reason you cannot allow the port through and enable UPnP is with Hamachi or similar programs like ZeroTier (there's even a thread here detailing how to use it). What router do you have? I could help you figure it out. It could very well be under another setting, or put under a different name (my Arris does that). As for Hamachi, what error did it give? I know you were frustrated, but if you could repeat it and take a screenshot of it, it could help a lot.
  12. You can also set default programs like that within the settings menu if the terminal is too crazy for you.
  13. To join a friend's, you will need to make sure the computer/router is not blocking port 42420 and then you need to click "add server" within the Multiplayer menu, and put in that person's local ip4 address. That's all you have to do for LAN. For allowing the server to be reachable by those on the internet, you need to click "Open to Internet". If the returned text next to the IP lists is not green, then it didn't work. That will mean you need to somehow get into your router (which could be difficult if you're in a dorm or something) and enabled UPnP and DMZ. Then you need to add the port forwarding options (port 42420 as TCP and public ip4 address which you can obtain here. Leave the external IP one as an "*") and then relaunch/test the game. If the text returns green, you've set it up all correctly. If for some reason you cannot get port forwarding to work, you can use options like Hamachi or ZeroTier.
  14. The game is supposed to be challenging, a way different "challenge level" as opposed to Minecraft. When I first got it, wolves and boars were killing me like crazy. Now I now their range and pay attention to environments to avoid them. If I get in a tussle, you just have to run far and around objects. Eventually they stop pursuing you and turn back. Don't go out at night either, at least while you are just starting. It'll be tough the first 20 or so hours, but once you have a base (and used a gear there to set your spawn), you'll get the hang of it! Don't worry, just keep it up!
  15. Well....I figured it out! LOL See the problem was that I wasn't directly hooked up to the main device. My ethernet cable is plugged into the Sagemcom device, which pulls access from the main Arris. While I had everything set correctly on the Sagemcom (Upnp enabled, DMZ enabled & pointing to MY specific computer + port forwarding set up), the Arris was not. It didn't have DMZ enabled, but it had everything else seemingly set up correctly. I did NOT have to set up an additional port on the Arris, only on the device I was actually connected to. Once I enabled it on the main device, everything worked. The error message above was green and highlighting it revealed everything was successful. The only thing is...the game advised me to give my friends the wrong IP. I had to give them my PUBLIC IP address, which did not appear correctly in ipconfig /all. I had to find that via a website: https://www.whatismyip.com Once that was done, they connected! Sorry for the useless thread, but hopefully this helps someone, especially if they have the same devices as me. If not, just make sure DMZ is enabled and POINTING to your actual computer.
  16. Hello, So my friends do not want to use Hamachi because it is suspect, so I've been trying to set it up to run off my PC instead. It seems to be successful "in some measure" because it says when I hover of the IP it displays: Not being sure what that meant, I had my friends try anyhow. They constantly disconnect/timeout. I've checked my Windows firewall, it is allowing every single Vintage Story exe and even the folder. Now I checked, and my routers/modem seemingly has Upnp enabled, and there are options on both for port forwarding. But nothing works. I think I might just be screwing something up, because my brother got Minecraft port forwarding to work on the same moderns a few months back (he can't remember how). Anyone know how to do this? If so, would you mind helping me out? Router/Modem: Arris TG1672G and Sagemcom F@AST 5260 (< this is the one I'm plugged into, it grants us more ethernet ports) Picture of the Sagemcom port forwarding tab: Thank you for reading, Rhyagelle~
  17. I saw the video on Youtube, and came here to look for more information. I sent in an application, hopefully I filled it all in correctly.
  18. So it works on 1.13.4 right? It looks so good, too! Thanks for sharing!
  19. My suggestions! Volcanoes Rivers / Oceans Fishing (it would also be nice to catch fish and put them in a self made pond) Bird life (I thought it would be cool to have a rookery in a castle lol) More non-animal hostiles to combat Villages Slab-on-slab"stacking for construction (right now, a gap appears) Rugs/carpets More wall types (with the wallpaper etc)
  20. I don't know what else is different in this update, but it performs even better on Linux than it did before. Great! EDIT don't post with bad internet.
  21. Awesome, updating now! Thanks for all the hard work! (a small suggestion not worth creating an entire thread for: it would be really cool for world customization options we could select what "season/region" to spawn into, such as mountains, jungles, etc etc)
  22. Thanks for the update!
